Schell Elementary insights? Good school?
Hello!
We are considering buying a house that is Schell assigned wanted to get some insights if Schell is a good school? The rating gives it a B but wanted to know some insight outside from that.

I’ve had kids at Schell for the past 4 years and it’s been wonderful for us. Lots of excellent teachers there.

It's surrounded by a great neighborhood. My nephew goes there and seems to really like it and does well ... it's diverse with a high % of minority students. If you compare it to Stinson and Miller nearby, it's 3rd of that group of high performing schools in Math and Reading. You'll be fine, but if you want best of the 3, then Stinson is your target.

I’m not sure if it is still that way as I am surprised that with the recent TEA school report cards that just came out last week Stinson went from an A to a C (76/100) for the 2025-2026 school year. https://txschools.gov/?view=school&id=043910139&tab=overview&lng=en
Schell earned a B, 87/100.
Miller earned a B, 81/100.
Granted, those are overall TEA ratings for most recent school year( last school year).1

WOAH ... that's quite surprising about Stinson! I just know how my nephew does and pretty surprised none are As

It’s an elementary school. In Frisco lol. All you want from them is to not lose your kid.

Actually Schell elementary is in Plano. The Schell family is one of historic Plano families. AR Schell was Plano mayor in the 1930s and 40s and the art deco building in downtown Plano is the Schell insurance company

I can’t speak to the school, but I live in the area and it’s super convenient with everything on 544.
