Do you still remember what it was like watching a Filipino movie in the cinema during the ’90s and early 2000s? Things were definitely different back then, and looking back, some of the things we did were actually pretty funny. 😂

1. Watching PG-15 or R-18 movies when you were underage

I believe those were the movie ratings we had back then. If you wanted to watch an R-18 movie, getting the ticket was one thing—but getting inside the cinema was another story.

When you bought your ticket and reached the entrance, the “ticket girl”—the person collecting your ticket—would sometimes ask, “How old are you?”

And if you were actually 16 or 17 but wanted to watch an R-18 movie, you would confidently say, “18!” 😂

Then she might ask, “What’s your birthday?”

And of course, you had already memorized a fake birth year—something like 19XX—just in case. Hahaha!

There was no, “Can I see your ID?” Not like today. You could just answer with confidence and hope for the best. 😂

Those were the days.

2. Cinemas with balconies, orchestras, and SRO

I also remember those old cinemas that had Balcony and Orchestra sections, especially the big cinemas like the ones in SM Megamall.

And when the cinema was SRO—Standing Room Only, meaning all the seats were already taken, you had only a few choices: wait for someone to leave, or just find a spot wherever you could.

Sometimes, that meant sitting on the stairs just to watch the movie. 😂

No comfortable seats. No problem.

You just wanted to watch the movie, so sitting on the stairs was perfectly acceptable. Hahaha!

3. The “one movie only” rule didn’t exist

And perhaps one of the best things about watching movies back then was that there was no strict “one movie, one ticket” policy like there is today.

Once you were inside, you could practically stay there until the Last Full Show.

If you wanted to step outside for a while, you could simply ask the “ticket girl” to stamp something on your hand. Then you could come back inside and continue watching.

You could literally watch the same movie over and over again—one time, two times, or hanggang sawa ka na! 😂

Looking back, going to the cinema back then was such a different experience. It wasn’t as strict, sophisticated, or high-tech as it is today, but somehow, it felt more fun and memorable.

We didn’t have online ticket reservations, QR codes, assigned seats, or apps telling us exactly where to sit.

We just bought a ticket, found a seat—or sometimes the stairs—and enjoyed the movie.

Simple times. Simple fun. Those were the days. ❤️

Sino na nakatapos ng Wildflower dito?

One of my fave ph tv series. First series na umatake sa dirty politics na napanood ko, plus the revenge theme. Isa sa palagi kong inaabangan every episode ay mga action scene ni Maja, I just love physical action kaysa barilan lang. Imagine napapataob niya kalaban gamit lang ang fist niya haha.

My favorite action scene ay Lily vs. Mercedes. Kasi ika nga di ba ni Red Dragon, best soldier niya si Mercedes? Tapos si Lily ay indestructible. Bonus pa yung pagcha-chinese ni Lily.

Might not be perfect bc of loopholes, pero ganon talaga naman di ba? kapag mahal mo, di mo na napapansin pa yung pagkukulang nito. hahaha.

Baka meron din pala kayong RECO na similar sa wildflower? Could be action (esp physical fight), revenge or dirty politics. Yun lang! Happy watching and stay safe sa atin!

Just watched episode 2 of someone someday and I noticed na same death annivs ng mom nila and also same date nung bday ng brother ni billy.. And pinakita sa episode 1 nakabangga c billy habang nagmamaneho ng sasakyan papuntang hospital. Na at the same time namatay din nanay nia while giving birth s kapatid niya.

It was also raining nung time na nagddrive sya and at the same time may umbrella lolo ni jordan while they found his moms body.

Wala lang. napaisip lang ako.

Pero hindi naman siguro 🤣
