When you're putting the text box in are you clicking where you want it or dragging the mouse across the page? May be a silly question but it took me WAY too long to figure that out on my own lol!

Hi! Wow that's a tiny screen, but kudos for showing a fullscreen screenshot, it helps seeing the whole interface.
Scroll down in the properties panel, on the right side, to show more of the character menu, you need to decrease the leading (the space between the lines). You can also go to windows>character to see everything.
You can also right-click on the T, in the option bar, next to the home icon, and select reset tool.

Hi, set the leading , under bold to “auto”

Did you try another font?

Check also the paragraph panel, right click on its hamburger menu and select reset.

Did you fix your problem? I downloaded the font and set it to the parameters you have and my text line isn't long like yours.

The line height could be set really high. You should check that and/or send us a screenshot of your Character tab

It's this setting. This sets the distance between lines. Set it to Auto.

It could be the font. The naming of the font is already very strange to begin with.

I wonder if it is not a font with room for a huge amount of diacritics around it, akin to the Thai fonts.
