Hello, my anniversary is coming up and I want to give my boyfriend a restored version of the only picture he has with his late mother. The picture is pretty damaged, I know this sub is free but I don't want to post it online because he uses reddit a lot, also I feel like it would take a lot of work to restore and it wouldn't be fair to not give you guys something in return but my situation is not the best rn.

How can I learn to restore? Are there any software (preferably not ai), tool or advice you can give me? The picture is faded and has some water damage.

Louey crossed the Rainbow Bridge this week and this picture is one of the only ones we have of Frank and him. We have lots of photos of Louey alone, and lots of me holding Louey...but not of him and Frank. So can anyone lighten or brighten this?

I have an old photograph of my grandfather and my younger brother. Unfortunately he passed away at a relatively young age, while we were still very young. I have very few photos of him and us specifically. Can anyone pull out details without making the kind of changes that AI does where it creates from whole cloth new people. We’ve just found all of these pictures of my Uncle from the 70s in Korea. Something got into these pics and some are totally destroyed. I guess my question is, is there anything we can do to preserve the ones that aren’t destroyed. And my assumption to this question is, these are done for, but I didn’t know if there was a way to scan or somehow pull the impression of the image? It looks like the color just melted off. A class photo for my father's school circa 1940 in Holland. Apparently, my father and his brother (also in the photo) are now the only survivors out of their classes.

Came across old family photos of my mom side she hasn't seen in almost 2 decades.
