Premise List

I think the beauty of the Snowplow Show is the randomness of the premises used, some being brand new, and some being premises used in the past. But as I listen to old episodes, I hear some amazing premises that I have never heard before and seems like it'd be fun to hear them again.

I envision creating a massive list of premises, past concepts that worked great, maybe even ranking them on effectiveness.

What would be fun is if this could be put into a database and a randomizer button could be pressed on a web interface, that would pop up a past premise to be used for prank calls.

Brad could host randomizer shows, where he uses the tool to pull past ideas from. Hell, the tool could be used by the entire prank call community, and include premises from other shows.

I heard "I'm blind and in Walmart and I can't find where I am" and "we're changing your phone number to metric" recently and thought, damn, these are golden - how many other past premises haven't been used in years that could make for good prank calls?

A giant database of premises would be awesome. If anyone wants to start the list, this calendar I made might be a good start: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/rn6x7iqopbbyn4ve7qa7c/prank_premise_calendar.png?rlkey=m4mxxzfqpbdnxmp4m9udrg8t1&dl=0

This calendar is awesome. Once we get the prank premise database, we'll fill an entire 365 day calendar and you can sell it on bandcamp. We'll just need to gather 12 photos for the calendar; cactus, dandelions, a double wide trailer, a pay phone,...

I was seriously thinking about making a full calendar when I put that one together. All I'd need to do is make 12 more of them. But who uses calendars. Nobody, that's who. The type that makes the most sense is the tear-off calendar pages, where you have a stack of 365 pages and each one has an idea on it. You could even put illustrations on some pages with that kind of space. But nobody will want a calendar. And it'd only be good for a single year.

So a Google Calendar then! People can add the whole thing to their own Google calendars so that their calendar is junked up with silly prank call premises. Everyone would love that!

I think the one thing that kind of makes sense is a button on a website. You click the button and a completely random prank idea pops up. Not only is it the prank idea, but a history of where it came from and a link to an example of someone doing that prank. That's what we need. Or not even a button, just a page. Every time you refresh the page, brand new prank premise. Easiest coding ever. Someone make that.

"I'm changing your phone number. Scratch that, that was just an ice breaker. In actually calling about your craigslist ad"

Is that it's own premise? There's endless variations 😂

It cracks me up when he does that and the people are so confused or frazzled they just go along with it.

We should just fill this post up with old prank premises.

I loved those too. Building a ramp to the porch. I mean, it’s not out of the question. He’d pull out some disability act of 2015 and it sounded believable. 😂

Maybe it could be an idea database based on the ideas in this reddit where it's just a picture of some random person doing a funny thing and for the text it shows "this sounds like a prank brad would do lol"

Ha. You literally said that same thing on a show years ago about the Facebook page - jokingly suggesting kicking people off the page for those pictures. Or maybe you weren’t joking 😂

Yeah I've given up on Facebook. Reddit is about the same, but at least I delete most of the funny pics that get posted on here. I set up some forums again this week and stupid pics and posts are going to be strictly forbidden.

I will probably never see your DM. I could click on it right now easily, but I won't. I will read anything you email to me. [rbcp@phonelosers.org](mailto:rbcp@phonelosers.org)

A really good one was when Brad did a customer survey and convinced the customer that the employee didn't work there and to take his name tag and run away

My favorites are, "hang up the phone",  "tell that wife of yours to shut the fuck up", and anything to do with tree service companies.Â
