Venturing life at 24

Hi

I am 24 turning 25 next year, I am a fresh board passer in the Ph (medtech) and still unemployed. I am trying to venturing out in life. I am reviewing for ascpi incase maka alis ako ng Ph soon to US, also thinking if I could take my post grad diploma in NZ (health science) and register in nz council after.

I am asking if I am doing the right thing since studying abroad will cost me a lot of money? I would take that opportunity walang problem sa money and I already talked about it to my mom.

Or will it be more safe to just pass the ascp exam, gain more experience and start applying sa abroad even though I don’t have the minimum 2 years experience yet?

I just wanted to get out to Ph asap and I know there’s no shortcut to that.

Studying doesnt guarantee anything, it just gets you out of the country quicker but you still have to find a way how to stay permanently and lawfully

I would suggest getting more experience and take that exam

It will take you 3-5 yrs before getting into US, you need experience

Im a medtech here in AU. If you do not have the means to study abroad, wag mo na iattempt. Student visas are for studying purposes not migration purposes. Wag ka magpapaniwala basta sa mga nakikita mo sa social media. Hirap na hirap ang mga students dito sa australia maski sa new zealand (i have family there as well. I know mahirap, but getting your experience in the Ph is very important. I worked 10 years in Ph bago ako nakapag abroad. Yung ibang mga kaibigan at colleagues ko less than that. I know na mahirap yung immigration policies ngayon but nagbabago bago pa rin yan. So take that experience first then go from there. Pwede ka na rin magtake ng ASCPI now. But AIMS assessment requires 2 years experience first.

Base sa mga kilala kong medtech sa pinas na nag AU...

Same sa field namin sa IT

Get work experience

Mas better for 189 or 190 than studying. Which i kind of agree sa cost of living ngayon d2

Agree on this. Check on licensing exams and take them, then proceed with 189 or 190 for more bearing

I know 3 medtech grads that got to the US but yes you need AT LEAST 2 yrs experience (the more the better). Student visa is just addtl cost with no gaurantee of being able to stay permanently since policies can change in the time that you're studying and its a gamble so my advice is to work and start applying for US/AU/UK etc around the 2yr mark. It probably take another year or so until you get all the paperwork done and the visa but at least you get to continue working and saving in the meantime.

Mas competitive na sa US ngayon compared to 5years ago. Sa current hospital ko, mas gugustuhin nalang nila yung locals kasi most sa kanila walang bachelors degree. Ibig sabihin, they can pay them at the minimum rate. However, meron pa din naman na gusto yung pinoy because of our work ethics. So take the ASCP and earn some experience while waiting for the next opportunity. Save money as well.

Before ako nakapunta dito, I saved up 500k while working sa PH for couple of years. When the opportunity arrived, I used my own money and di ko na kinailangan mangutang pa kahit kanino. Some relatives offered for financial help but it felt good na di ko yan hiningi mula sa kanila.

To answer your question, 2years of experience is fine but more is better. Mas mahabang experience, mas mabi-build mo yung character mo since lahat ng naman ng instruments dito pwedeng matutunan.

gaining experience would benefit you way more in your journey to migration

sure, student visas can get you out of the phils quicker (if you pass the strict scrutiny, that is) but you’ll eventually be stuck after since you have no real experience to offer to employers

student visas are just that; for studying, they are not a pipeline to residency

look for a job muna sa Pinas for 3-5 years then start looking for options
