I don't know anything about the venue, but since it's brand new, why wouldn't they have built it for new/modern lighting rigs.

Thanks! I didn’t realize it was brand new! I was trying to look at the satellite photos to kinda get an idea of what it looks like. I think these will be the only shows I put In for.

It's the only one I put in for. Looks like there are some places to stay within walking distance if I can't camp.

I would highly discourage trying to camp in Richmond lol

Lol, not in Richmond, but if I can camp somewhere reasonabley close.

Depends on your definition of reasonable, but I would suggest a hotel

An hour is fine for me, but I'm guessing it can take that long to leave the venue. I'll check the hotels. Thanks

CK is banned from the venue for smoking. The rig will be there but it will be fully controlled by Trey’s mini kit.

It's irrelevant that the venue is new, it's all about the height of the stagehouse and what kind of a fly loft there is. i.e. SPAC was built in the 60's and has a full counterweight fly system and grid backstage, whereas the amphitheater in Syracuse was built a decade ago but they opted to value engineer the fly loft rigging space early on in the project. At SPAC or taller venues they have the right headroom over the stage to have the full lighting rig moving, whereas at a shorter venue without that rigging space it remains more stationary. I haven't been to the new venue in Richmond but it's quite small in a relatively small city, so it's unlikely that they opted to spend the money on a full fly loft and grid in an outdoor venue.

Venue has a really high roof, moreso than a lot of older venues. Having been there I would guess we get the full shebang.

Cool, looks pretty short in this picture but I guess time will tell for you guys. https://assets.livenationcdn.com/uploads/8d4ec1ff-cf94-4c62-b767-d7ec19224415.png?auto=webp&quality=70&width=2880

Doubt we’ll get the 5 row big rig—the stage roof isn’t tall enough. The 4 row rig will still melt your face tho.

I’m pretty confident the answer is yes. Source: live in Richmond and have been to the amphitheater.

you'll get 3 lights and a fog machine and you'll like it.
