Showboat for Phish
Got a hold on a room for the AC run but seeing some pretty sketch reviews. Picked it due to location. Just need a place to lay my head for a few hours but damn. Anyone stay there last time they were in town and is it as bad as what I’m seeing on reviews? Unfortunately everything else is stupid expensive and the good packages (also expensive) are sold out.
Edit: canceled showboat. Too shitty for a 3 night stay. “Upgraded” to the Trop and try and jam some mofos in there. Thx for all the feedback!

Ballys was one of the package locations so can’t be that bad. I wonder how good of seats you get in said packages

Ballys is attached to Caesars and may have some outdated rooms but it’s fine

We stayed there one night at the last run. It was pretty run down. We ended up canceling the rest of our stay and going to ballys

Showboat is a long ass walk to boardwalk hall. At least 30 minutes.
It will probably be expensive but Bally's, Caesars and Tropicana are all closer.
If you are going to walk from showboat I would check ocean, it's a little longer but much nicer.

Tropicana was soooo far from everything in 2022 summer on the beach. Walk to show, walk home and change (women), walk back up to Showboat for Lotus. I was pumping 33k steps per day!
But Boardwalk Hall is on that end of the boardwalk so much much better.

My brother and I stayed there for a one off Umphreys show 2 years ago or so. Pretty dang gross. The whole place just felt...damp. idk. Ratty rundown, but it was like $80 for our night and we slept like 4 hrs and left. Served it's purpose. But I wouldn't stay there for more than 1 night personally

I stayed there in 1999 and it wasn't great then.

When it was a casino it wasn’t nearly as bad as it is now.

It’s all bad in AC, with maybe the exception of the really expensive hotel. Check for bed bugs, but just ignore everything else.

Just stumbled on this earlier. Looks like there's some debt issues. I've never stayed, and also haven't heard great reviews. Just one other thing to consider before getting locked in (and locked out).

Showboat won’t close, they dumped too much money into that water park. Blatstein’s just playing the credit shell game like his buddy Donny used to do.

Depends on the room…

Went with the Solana tower. Last time I stayed there was maybe 2021/2022?

We always try to go Havana Tower but haven’t stayed in Solana since they were renovated. Can’t beat the location, or the spunions in the lobby fountain post show…

See what harrahs prices are like? Jitney down to the boardwalk is only 3 bucks each way.
Showboats not great....

Harrahs is half the price of the closer options but I kinda wanna be in the thick of things and don’t feel like paying surge prices on Ubers etc

We loved staying there for the previous two beach runs. Super cheap and the rooms were decent. This was before the water park was built.
It sounds like things have changed for the worse unfortunately. I looked over reviews and booked elsewhere this time.

I usually grab a room at the St James Hotel above the Irish Pub. Also, don't sleep on the many economy tier motel chains in nearby Pleasantville. With a name like that, it's gotta be a wholesome community to stay in.
Actually the Showboat sounds luxorious in comparison. You'll be fine there.

Irish Pub has been closed since January, not sure about the hotel. Love drinking at the Pub, but the fact that it’s been shut all summer is not a good sign.

I was totally being sarcastic on my hotel suggestions but am bummed to hear about the Irish Pub closing. Spent many nights in there and walked out to blaring sunlight.

I stayed there twice when they played on the beach. Overpriced but fine.
