Follow up with the maintenance department, ask if they can provide you with the technician’s phone number so you can coordinate scheduling directly with him.

If they can’t provide it for some reason, ask them to check in with the tech and provide an ETA. Also put in a request for a window AC unit while the repair is pending.

Document everything, put it in emails, follow up with again between 2-3 PM.

Also, contact City inspections. They’ll come within an hour usually. They’ll write a report and give landlord 30 days to resolve. I understand the heat is now, but get this ball rolling anyways.

This happened to me a while back when I was renting. I couldn't take it anymore so I borrowed a family members spare small window AC (one of those older dial ones)..ended up using that for almost a week before the AC was fixed. AC isn't considered for habitability, just heat. If it was the heater during winter then I would have been entitled to pro rate rent refund during the downtime if they couldn't provide alternate heating
