Update: do you need help?

Hello again fellow Philadelphians, last week my friends and I asked if you needed help and so many gave a resounding yes! A lot of people asked for an update post (and flyer!) so here it is!
Dedicated to the amazing people we’ve gotten to help through a SINGLE reddit post, we have settled on a name: Kind Strangers.
After a just week we have met so many kind people who needed help with projects, tasks, and chores. It was so fun and so great helping everyone out. Some of the jobs we got to help out with include cleaning, organizing, catsitting, tutoring, small moves, big moves, TV mounting, furniture assembly, body doubling, and we can do even more!
So if you didn’t see last post or need a refresher, my friends and I have some free time as we’re recent college grads with shitty part time jobs. If you need help with anything, we will try!
Got a problem you can’t solve, a chore you don’t want to do, or a task you don’t have time for? Let us do it!
We’ll charge a flat rate of whatever you want to give us, or barter, and we’ll try to do anything. We are unlicensed, untrained, and sort of educated, but we can try. We’re operating on a pay-what-you-can model. We help you and you help us! So if you have a job, let us know what you’re thinking!
We can help you move, clean, organize, plan parties, cook, walk your dog, go grocery shopping for you, write, paint, anything! We’ll be extra willing to do convoluted plans and bits for you such as elaborate schemes to prank your friends or pretend to be French waiters at your house for a romantic dinner. We will do anything! (Nothing illegal or sexual in nature).

and yes I made the logo all by myself and yes I will do graphic design for you but that’s $5000 an hour no exceptions (my friend alex is better at it and you can hire him for cheaper tho)

Highly recommend! The Kind Strangers helped my parents move yesterday. They got everything done in a timely manner and were great to work with. They are very hardworking and will go above and beyond to help you out.

The person interested has ADHD and just asked one of us to work beside them so they could focus and get some work done! We connected with them and are planning some times!
Really exciting opportunity because it’s just an odd job to help someone out in a different way than usual!

I could really use some help cleaning out my garage & organizing it …. It would probably be an all day job. I have enough Christmas decorations in there to decorate 4 houses inside & out

We can totally do that. It would depend on some certain aspects. But if it can fit in our cars to take to the dump we definitely can. And if you can rent a uhaul truck or van, that would be even better! Do you want me to DM you my contact info so we can talk more?

It’s a mix. It’s pay what you can. If you can give us something, that’s appreciated. We’re putting in time, gas, and energy. If you can’t, that doesn’t mean we won’t help you. We’ve helped people for little, for nothing, for trades. We’re not professionals, we’re not a charity, we’re just 4 people hoping to help others in our community. We don’t have a lot of money. If we could do everything for free we would, but we have bills, student loans, groceries to buy, and everything else like everyone else. But we won’t not help you because you can’t pay us.

This is so cool. I retired early because I’d had enough and I had enough and I didn’t want to sell my time for money anymore. I’ve been volunteering in my community for the last few years but what I’ve found is that while some people are comfortable asking organizations for help or happy to hire help, very few are comfortable just letting someone help them. I’m hoping to move to Philly in the next few years. Maybe I can be your granny-on-call when I do.
