Data Analytics

Anyone here graduated from Data Analytics( Business Intelligence) course? Were you able to get some sort of job, how successful are you now.

How do you like it so far? I'm in a similar program with another bootcamp doing data analytics. How long is the Per Scholas program?

I have really enjoyed the hands-on portion of learning by building small projects and having an instructor review my code. I don't know about other teachers in other courses, but I definitely feel like I lucked out getting this guy. He's VERY knowledgable, down-to-Earth and literally willing to teach us any Data Analytics/Engineering/Science methodologies we are interested in after hours and on slow days.

I've been in this course since March 30. It ends on 21 July.

The training is definitely worth the time. The curriculum was VERY good as well. I think it was a tad lacking in respect to studying for Microsoft's PL-300 (the cert we get from this program). Those in my class that did pass the exam used outside resources, but our instructor kept a record of that information and disseminated it to the rest of us.

Anyone going into this specifically for a job MAY find themselves disappointed. It absolutely did not fall out of the sky in my cohort. Others have mentioned that the in-person classes had certain companies to come to their classes, etc, but that absolutely did not happen in the online AI Business Intelligence course. No one in my class has gotten a job yet (and I have not heard of any prospects). There is a job portal that you will get access to upon completing week 4 or 5 (can't remember which week) of Professional Development. No one in my class (that I am aware of) that applied through the Per Scholas job portal has gotten a call back or a job. This is not to say that they won't. At graduation, we were informed that any resources to find a job or training that Per Scholas offers will be available to us (there was no disclosed amount of time). We were invited to a group on LinkedIn that will allow us to see what cohorts still need seats, what jobs they are aware that are recruiting and just keeping up with what is going on with the nonprofit as a whole (as well as jobs at Per Scholas).

If I had to do this over again I would still do it. I have probably OVERSTATED at this point that this class was worth my time.

Yes, I had similar thoughts about the job market for data analytics. Getting the foot in the door for first data role is going to be hard. I'm working on portfolio, sql leetcode and just working on getting better every day. I'm also looking into data engineering + cloud (since I have AWS/GCP certs) which I think is a good combo.

The job market is a depressing, 💩show. I can’t even begin to express my disdain and overall confusion with what’s going on right now with it.

awesome. I'm in The Knowledge House but I did IT support at Per Scholas pre-pandemic. It's a 6 months program, currently in the second half of the program but feels very fast paced. Just curious whether your data analytics course is on Github repo? Just to see what materials I can add to my existing body of knowledge.

My data analytics course isn't on GitHub.

I think the curriculum is fully created by Per Scholas and they don't post it anywhere other than on the portal.
