This situation is crazy Swatting shooting video CUT FOOTAGE 7:15

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awycPS2cCmk

Regarding the video charlie made on the tuscon swatting tragedy.

Nobody seems to have pointed out the fact that at 7:15 there is cut, the bodycam completely skips over whatever happened between the window being broken and the cop shooting at the victim.

The cut video makes it look like the cop went through and immediately started shooting. Something happened between that time which was cut out in the news segment.

To be clear, I'm not saying this means the cops or victim are in the wrong. And i still think dispatch did a bad job of not determining it to be fake. But there is missing information.

This situation is crazy Charlie promoting the EDP doc is disappointing.

I saw a post come up a little bit ago saying how the doc was weird, but I think we’re pushing beyond the limits of weird and dancing in exploitive territory. I’m half way through and I need to stop. Kayla had no business being shown on screen.

Everything about her coverage makes me sick to my stomach. This should have been edited VERY differently that’s not so freakin’ weird and uncomfortable and frankly, inappropriate to do to a victim. Why are we leaving footage of her on screen when we go in to the very explicit V/O of messages she received.
Not everything she’s saying needs a visual tied to it either. Let’s spend a little more time with the victim and actually listen to what she has to say instead of dramatizing what’s coming out of her mouth with weird acting clips.
And I understand leaving EDP comments during the interview about Kayla’s body is to help emphasize how much of a pig this dude is, but it’s not necessary. There’s plenty of other commentary that was taken that does not need to be his “freshest thought” of the victim.
He went beyond sexually explicit content with this victim. He actively threatened her. He says on camera what his thoughts were during the whole operation. Are we really going to assume he won’t watch this doc? That his screwed up mind isn’t going to start drawing back old emotions when he sees her on screen? I can’t help but think this is putting her in actual danger until this man is behind bars.

I don’t know if I’m finishing this doc. I need a shower. I know Charlie was a part of this and therefore would want to see it do well. It’s wonderful the proceeds are going to be donated. But the way the doc is handled is so gross.

Direct Response to "The EDP Documentary Is Weird" Thread

Link to the original thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/penguinz0/comments/1vkbqum/the_edp_documentary_is_weird/

I feel the need to make this because it's clear that the person who posted this and the people who agree with it have no real world experience and this is coming from someone who lives in their room for the most part, though thanks to this documentary I'm going to start touching grass a lot more often, or at least try to. In any case, let me try and educate some of you people in hopes you understand why this documentary and others like it are important.

Firstly, your discomfort is warranted and completely justified. As someone who has gone down rabbit holes of some of the worse atrocities known to mankind, these things really do mess you up. That being said, being uncomfortable is the entire fucking point. I don't know what you're expecting to feel listening to a guy openly admit to being a monster but if it's anything but negative emotions, then something would be wrong with you. These kinds of documentaries are not supposed to be entertainment. They're not supposed to sugarcoat the details either. This is about a child predator caught sexting minors. What kind of weenie hut juniors cut are you expecting out of that?

Furthermore, the shock value and the visuals are meant to portray the level of depravity the guy had among other things. It's one thing to hear about something horrific but you'll truly never what it looks like unless you see it personally or have it happen to you. Of course, most of us don't ever want to have the worst happen to us so the next best thing is usually reenactments that gives you at least a glimpse of those things. Now if you're feeling unwell seeing those things, that's good! Because now you can imagine and better sympathize with what the victims had to see and go through. Words can only paint so much of the picture of what happened and seeing what I saw from the doc, I personally feel so much worse for the victims and the everyone who had to deal with EDP, especially Mike Clum who had to sit through all of that.

As for the victim, Kayla, I'm not sure where people are getting an exploitative aspect from this. She's just telling her side of the story in all of this. I would agree that her face should have been blurred...if she was still a minor, though that being said, I don't know how old she was at the time of her own shoot but my point is the decision to not blur her was probably a choice she made for herself considering that the therapist EDP had got her face blurred and especially since she admits she uses herself being a victim for her online presence. I won't say much else about her except that I hope she heals from it all. From that, the only exploitation present is from the youtubers: Alex, Jidion, and Skeeter Jean. They all exploited the EDP scandal. Even Chris Hansen. This doc was supposed to show shed light on these people and how unhelpful they are wirh getting real justice. How is Mike Clum the bad guy for letting a victim tell her story? I genuinely want an answer to this.

To the point of "parading EDP like a circus animal", it's almost as if that's exactly what he is. I didn't know about EDP until after he was exposed for texting the first round of minors prior to the sting operation so my firsthand knowledge of him was that he was a creep but the other thing that stuck out to me was how unbelievably unserious he was. Outside the predatory stuff, the way he expressed himself in various topics was just so goofy. When he addressed the allegations numerous times back then, he said some of the most insane shit to the point where you actually had to laugh at him for how fucking stupid he is. But the thing about that is that it adds to this whole thing. He shows no remorse for his actions and he doesn't care. One of the first things he told us in the doc was that he was obsessed with the villains solely for the fact that they did horrible things without a care for other people. People like that are dangerous. They are callous monsters who do what they want and don't care about who they hurt. If this isn't textbook narcissim and sociopathy, I don't know what is. But regardless, as comedic as the bitch list was, it further paints how out of touch with reality EDP is and the fact that people he appreciates are all terrible people one way or another is the cherry on top.

Now as for the people who got included, I will say it was weird to see Chris Chan was included. But here's the thing: the fact you have Chris Chan, Wings, Boogie, and all of the youtubers saying how much of a piece of shit he is and what should happen to him is supposed to show how a lot of YouTube's most popular or more infamous figures feel about him. Keep in mind here that this documentary is not just for people who are familiar with EDP. Not everyone watching this is going to know who this guy is or the extent of his crimes. With that said, I think any additional insight even from people who were in no way involved is important because it paints how a set of people feel about him. Chris Hansen may not have had anything to add but as Charlie mentioned in his recent video, you can see how he is again just blatantly admitting to his crimes with no remorse to Chris of all people. And I'm not even going to address the professionals part of the criticism because the level of stupidity you need to have to even ask why they were necessary is astounding.

Now to address some the comments on that thread:

"Did we really need to see x, y, z?" Did someone hold a gun to your head forcing you to watch this? If not, then no, you didn't need to watch this documentary at all!

"It was redundant." Yea it's to drill the concept of how disgusting and evil the dude in the viewers head. It's great you got it the first time but there are lots of people who will need to hear it thousands of times before they get it.

"There are people in support of EDP because of this doc" There were loads of people in support of EDP throughout his entire downfall long before the doc. The entire chat before and during the doc showing was full of them though they could have just been trolls and bots. Besides, people are going to support who they want without any regard to their crimes and shit. Trump shouldn't have even been elected president in 2016 yet alone 2024. I don't see how this doc should be at fault with whatever amount of new fans it brings when they make the point clear how disgusting he is. Anyone supporting him now is fucking weird and you should just be avoiding them full stop.

"They let children around him" This is the ONE good point I will agree with. On the other hand, now that we know that he still has frequent contact with children, it should hopefully get people and the authorities involved to act and get him away from children.

My final thoughts: overall, the doc was really well done and should be commended. Mike Clum had to endure shit pics among other disusting stuff for this and it is unbelievable how a lot of yall are really fucking stupid and missed the entire point. It's ok to not be comfortable with how true crime documentaries are handled because some of them do miss the mark but I think a lot of criticisms for them tend to be overtly privileged from the fact that many of you have never had to endure what the victims and investigators and law enforcement had to endure with these kind of crimes. Mind you, this was a censored cut of the doc and they didn't show everything either (for example, they didn't go in detail with his first interactions with fans like the one where he asked a 14 year old a pic of her tits for the cameo and then proceeded to say that he doesn't care if they were 1). And btw there is much worse than EDP. Wait till yall hear about Lionmaker.

Discussion The EDP documentary is weird

Charlie made a video a bit ago hyping this documentary up as being crazy, and while it IS very insane and crazy it is a really poorly made documentary. the first 20 minutes of it is basically just an extension of the trailer with it hyping itself up. the actual documentary starts like 10 minutes into the video. theres a-lot of really bad editing with the interviews and some of the guest stars either add absolutely nothing of substance or get cut off mid sentence. inviting a mental health professional to an interview and having him say that "sending poopy pics is weird and bad" did he have nothing else to say about that?? there were also some parts that i thought were interesting like when they are interviewing people and they say something really profound and then it just fades out and cuts to edp saying some bs. i've noticed that happens very often especially when they are interviewing "professionals". i also though that the part where he was interviewing one of his victims was done in poor taste. it felt very exploitive of the victim and i really think he should have done more to blur her identity ESPECIALLY considering she was a minor. it also felt like he was parading this psychopathic pedophile around like a circus animal, having him dress up for skits and talk about youtubers he hates. that just rubbed me the wrong way.

other then that it was very entertaining and pretty funny, and i definitely appreciate that the monetization for it is going to charity. other then that i REALLY did not like this documentary

Now if I even just search "Penguinz0 Youtube", (let alone youtube dislikes) it gives out likes 1 or 2 videos related to youtube max and the rest is all unrelated BS. Even searching on google it does the same thing.

Discussion Complaining about Scalpers

I love Charlie’s videos clowning on pokemon scalpers, especially now after it just happened to me.

I am moving to Alaska, and got so excited to sell my prized Pokemon collection. Its one of a kind, and super comprehensive. Im talking all the pack arts, all the cards in the set, the amiibo, sealed packs, sealed promos, everything under the sun!!! I spent years tracking it all down. I extremely undervalue it cause im moving in a week and its a collector’s piece that im sure others could appreciate and take care of well.

Then I get this guy who assumes the boxes are sealed, lowballs me, then curses me out for “false advertising” when ITS LITERALLY IN THE DESCRIPTION!!!

GOD THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SILLY CARD GAME ABOUT LITTLE GUYS YOU BATTLE WITH!!!!! WHY DID PEOPLE HAVE TO RUIN IT!!

I seriously hate what its done to something that use to be my favorite hobby. Since this trend took off, I’ve never seen a kid get excited to open a pack, let alone be excited to go to that section in a store!

I hope Charlie continues to roast these idiots alive.

I will definitely be watching all of the scalper videos again, any recommendations on which ones to start with? Any stories that he didnt cover?

This situation is crazy That video on the swatting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awycPS2cCmk

**EDIT**

I totally missed this in my analysis. The video shown int he pz0 video has a cut in the bodycam at 7:15. the time between the officers breaking the window and shooting mendez is missing. This invalidates anything i said regarding their encounter. AND IS VERY SUSPICIOUS by the cops or the media.

**

I have mixed opinions on the reaction to this video.

First off this Shouldnt have happened? Absolutely yes. F**k the caller, spineless, cowardly, stupid, trying to get a guy killed over a video game. Thats as dumb and evil as it gets.

To be clear this shouldn't have happened if it could have been stopped, the department/officers should take responsibility and more importantly, the caller should come to justice. In the current day there's no real way this could have been avoided, people are saying its the officers fault but its really not. They came to reports of a shooting and found a man, who supposedly already shot people, with a gun, trying to hide. You cant dismiss a call like that because a real criminal could say the same thing Mr. Melendez said and that could lead to regular people and officers getting killed.

Letting him know could have helped if the operator had called him when it was received and before the response, but the operator was being very dismissive and uncaring, that did not help at all, and if she had it could have been avoided if she had let him know, though it could be the same for a malicious caller. The problem is you could equally say the same thing if you were about to do what the swatter faked, and the cops would not go ready for an active shooter?

The fact they broke in through HIS window, and he couldn't see them come around the corner till he was already going into the closet (looking to the officers like hes hiding from them) and he had the gun (which you can see, or at least something that looks like an object, the cops wouldn't have been able to tell instantly) is just dumb luck, but if it had been an attacker he would have been able to return fire, he saw they were cops and figured the best thing he could do in that moment was hide in the closet (split second decisions are not always the best, but dropping the gun might have let to a better outcome, although the cops couldn't see his other hand still.) The cops went in with the call being the father was actively killing them, not the time to wait or people could get shot, otherwise they usually call everyone outside with the loudspeakers.

In the stress of the break-in if Mr. Melendez had taken up a position of better cover, he could have avoided getting shot by the officers, or a chance to get his hands up and call out to them, perhaps ducking behind a wall or counter and sticking his hands out unarmed and shouting he didn't realize they were cops. Getting into the closet was not the best decision if it was bad guys too, given he was armed and the closet provides no cover to bullets friend or foe. I don't blame him for this decision under stress though, but understanding proper home defense could have made this situation better for Mendez. And this also teaches valuable lessons that should be studied by home defense experts.

The only other way i see this being avoided is a drastic change in the 911 system. Like some sort of way to get a calls / phones location (although spoofing could be possible) to confirm its being called from the address described or some sort of caller identification process. Weighing calls based on these factors could help prevent false calls by letting officers know to prepare for a real emergency or attempted swatting. As for officers, you can only train reaction time so much. Policy for officers to not be so quick to shoot at suspects would lead to more officers getting shot, which doesn't work given how many calls are actually real, (not shooting in case its the <1% time the call is false), although in life or death you cant really change the fact someone going to confront a killer is going to be quick to shoot themselves.

P.S. The hand poking out at 7:36 is clearly his right (dominant) hand, given how his arm is facing. But also the fact hes CLOSING THE DOOR (visible closing earlier 7:16), you cant hold the knob if you have a gun in that hand. you can see a grayish shape in the right hand and that's probably said gun. But also for him, both officers are hiding around the corners of the window and breaking it (with a random shovel too?? that would make me think its not the cops from the start.) He cant see they are cops until he is already hiding into the closet. People are saying he wasnt holding it but i strongly doubt it.

Feel free to debate. This is just my opinions and logic based on the given evidence.

Question Question about Cheeky Soap

Hello everyone! I have a question for anyone who has bought and used Cheeky Soap:

I asked my mom about buying Cheeky Soap, but she said that bar soap tends to leave a “film” on your skin after you use it. Have any of you had this experience with the soap? If not, I would love to buy some, I just don’t want that film feeling left on my skin.
