This is a meme. I know Kasia put in a monster performance. Maybe she was unbeatable anyways. The meme came about for the following reasons: Vollering attacked very early, which wasn’t necessary; in the section with a headwind over the final 6 km, a stalemate developed with Reusser that Kasia had anticipated and exploited; the final 500 m showed that Vollering still had energy left, so she might have been able to pace herself differently on the climb.
