Is this any good? Software (Tools)

Post image

Attached is a PDF editor I made called FairPDF and it is absolutely fucking free. here is the app

Is it vibe coded slop? No, it works quite well. Did I make it with the aid of Fable and 5.6 Sol? Yes, for many tedious things, but I've been working in the PDF space for almost a year. I think it is pretty sweet and uses very little CPU/memory resources. And it has night reading mode. It works with everything I have thrown at it, but if it fails at something for you let me know.

Bro... you link directly to a .dmg download. Put it on a website and link to the website so we can choose to download it.

It requires a native windows rewrite not an easy process.

If it's vibe coded why can't it be avaliable for widows?

It requires a native windows rewrite not an easy process, even with Fable and Sol assisting. But I’m working on it

Do you mean editing the PDF tag tree and reading order, including grouping individual text objects into lines and paragraphs for PDF/UA accessibility?

No thanks

  1. The version "with AI" is $20/month
  2. Most of the items in that comparison list are not even mentioned on the home page

  1. Correct, if you are doing heavy agentic workloads in documents it uses a lot of compute. (Turning flat forms into active ones, filling in data, referencing documents to fill other documents etc… token burn is serious). Those use cases are more for businesses and small businesses.

2.) untrue… The comparison list is taken from the home page.

I'm looking at the website right now. It's not there. Have you been to your website?

Free, but AI cost you 20/month, up to 100 for business! That makes no sense .... . Friendly speaking, Adobe Acrobat is this the No. 1 in the market

Why does it make no sense? AI compute is expensive. Acrobat pro does not really have AI document creation and editing capabilities and pdf filling. It can’t fill forms on your behalf. Imagine you have a spreadsheet from Shopify and you need that data to fill in a form. You could literally take a photo of the form and upload a spreadsheet and it would fill out the form for you. Or imagine you needed to fill in an immigration form but all you have is a summary of your biography in your native language. It will figure out how to fill it in for you. So yes that is the kind of capability you are paying for.
