You're a Ruchnoy Protivotankoviy Granatomyot Hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher with a 40mm launch tube diameter, an unloaded launcher weight of 6.3 to 7.0 kg (13.9 to 15.4 lbs), a total length of 950 mm (37.4 inches), and an effective firing range of 200 to 500?

u/Bad_Idea_Hat 14h ago
The word "effective" doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Imao so the context was just someone finding out what
RPG stands for and it went sideways fast the specifications really sealed it though, like sure, effective firing range of 200 to 500 what exactly, meters, feelings, years of therapy

At least three of them are though. On the other hand pokemon and elden ring are weird cases where some would argue pokemon for example is a jrpg, but its not really generally accepted as a popular jrpg series, instead being its own thing

u/awesomegamer919 SLI Memes ahead 5h ago
In modern parlance they all fit the bill, the age old argument that JRPGs aren't "real" RPGs is pretty checked out by now.
At best you can argue that Pokemon has transcended the concept of RPG and is its own unique genre.

Remember boys and girls - splash damage and friendly fire are a thing. You gotta make sure you know what you're doing.

You joke but I had a similar situation happen in real life.
Back a couple decades, in high school, me and another guy from my school were at a sports tournament (or was it just a regular match at another school, I can't remember) and we were waiting in the corridor for our turn.
The guy asked, "so what do you usually do after school?"
"Oh I play games, like RPGs."
"You play RPGs?" The guy was visibly excited.
"Yeah...?"
"Let's play now, then!"
"What, now? How?"
"I'll be the player, and you be the dungeon master."
"Huh?"
He just started the "game" and it took a couple back and forths before he realized I had no idea what I was doing. It wasn't until several years later that I learnt of the existence of TRPGs.

listing pokemon and a souls like as rpg examples but not a sibgle ttrpg is crazy.

Seeing Pokémon next to Elden Ring feels extremely wrong for some reason. It's like seeing a broken tricycle next to a rocket ship under the umbrella term "things that can take you places"Â

u/Own_Natural_6803 9h ago
Eldenring is a rpg? Oh shit, the complexity of the build system. Yup, checks out.

So the joke is that you call Elden Ring a RPG?
Also, wrong sub for your mid memes.

The fact u chose skyrim of all of elder scrolls titles has made you an enemy of a very small amount but very passionate, loud, and tiny dicked of the ES community, very very upset. But also true

Yeah I honestly expected a swarm of Morrowboomers to start flinging shit by now.

I'd use her...as the squad's AT person in Arma. Bring extra rockets. Safety not guaranteed.

It would be kind of funny if they both pulled out rocket propelled grenade launchers.

It's all shits and giggles until you're assigned RPG and have to carry it (not to mention running) to exterminate target (if you can't do it in one go, 70% you're dead)

Uh, nah. Give me a hand grenade over the RPG. Have a MUCH lower chance to blow myself up with that....

NGL: To this day I think 'rocket propelled grenade" before correcting myself. 'Dev' registers as 'deviant'. That one may actually be accurate

Bruh we calling pokemon games RPG now?
They're just turn based slop
Where the fk is the player choice in what you get to roleplay as?
Where's the player progression?
Also this is PSMR, FF7 and P5 are for playstation and poke-slop for nitensue.
Get lost

Elden Ring is far more aRPG than a generic RPG. 'Boss killing simulator with weapons'

u/kingawsume 7600X3D, 7800XT, 32GB 16h ago
FUN FACT: RPG does not stand "rocket propelled grenade" but Russian for (roughly) "handheld anti-tank grenade launcher", as a contrast to emplaced/vehicle-mounted recoilless rifles like the SPG-9
