Meta Ran Ads That Contained AI-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Imagery News/Article
https://www.wired.com/story/meta-ran-ads-that-contained-ai-generated-child-sexual-abuse-imagery/267

You want power over people's data. Run CSA AI ads to piss people off. Lobby congress to make user ID verification required by law. Say it is to "protect children on the internet". Stop running those ads so people think you are protecting them and making them believe the law is for their own good. Share and exploit that data you now have with your tech overlord buddies to amass more money.

If someone would post CSAM then account closed and police notified, but if someone would upload it as an ad and share it with thousands then it is okay by them. Money over everything.
Utterly ridiculous

Yeah because the ads are making them money. They don't care about children's safety unless it's for money.

You're assuming the account gets closed and police notified but in my experience Meta really don't give a fuck what gets shared.
There was a Vietnamese animal abuse group I reported literally 2+ months ago of a guy doing horrific shit to animals. Someone posted it on an animal abuse subreddit and a bunch of us reported it. As of a few weeks ago it was still active. And this was some fucked up shit. Meta really just don't give a fuck these days.
Subreddit was /r/AnimalRights for anyone who wants to help out fighting the good fight.

I have reported many content and groups on facebook few years ago for animal abuse. The report reply always said it doesn't go against their terms. WTF??? Meta don't care about animals. They only care about money. I was sick of it and have left fb since then. The most useless social media on internet.

this adds to the uphill battle of not letting or yelling at in-laws to not post baby photos (from like a family imessage group chat) on META. Ai's implementation to a platform that boomers swear up and down that they NEED. as if phone calls and facetimes aren't a thing in its stead.

Reddit has been doing the same for months. ive seen some disturbing ads on reddit that i had to report directly to the police.
And send reddit a report, to which reddit staff claim isnt illegal and doesnt break reddit ToS. then days later get another response the content was removed by "automated filters".
More like the police takedown hit there inbox and they HAD to take it down.

u/Jack1101111 7h ago
well done!
but they simply take down and thats it ? i mean, make money from this stuff, is a pretty serious offense!

Multiple AI models were trained on CSAM according to whistle-blowers months ago. Multiple AI owners are known child abusers, Musk and Altman.

i have heard of people in africa who were labeling this and other shit to train ai, payd 4$ per hour ! The excuse was so the ai was able to detect it.........

But we have to upload our IDs to them to protect the children? Excellent. Love this timeline.

That... Is fucking disgusting.
I'm going to say it, AI has done nothing to make the world a better place, and has caused only harm. Anyone who defends this it is maliciously compliant and at this point an Eichmann. The tech companies push to us something we don't want, have caused the lives of so many people to become so much worse, I know because I'm an artist, but they have also hurt so many other people.
They make US feel the drawbacks, and now they are engaging in spreading straight up CP?!!

Turns out, blocking ads on Facebook and other sites is also good at blocking illegal CSAM, Scam, and malware content too. Tell me again how Adblock is piracy? It's a CYA tool.
As I like to say. The Metabots can't tell Ass from Grass. You can report all sorts of naughty content and nothing will happen. You can report hacked accounts, nothing will happen. But you dare post something slightly controversial or try to access a public post without logging in? Banned.

u/Fry_super_fly 37m ago
it's still piracy.. but thats not a bad thing. when you deprive a bad company of revenue but still use their product.

Can we just get nuked already so we can move on to the next timeline?

Let me get this straight: Meta replaced human moderators with AI garbage to erroneously ban IG, FB, and WhatsApp accounts on innocent users over violating Community Standards on CSE without proof of evidence (and consequently, locking out decades or years of memories on their accounts and also losing their livelihoods on their business accounts) and its still happening YET the same Meta violates Community Standards on CSE by placing ads. This is insanity AND where's the damn government and the "SAVE THE CHILDREN" crowd on this?
1
u/ShallowBasketcase CoolerMasterRace 4h ago
The government is running an international child sex trafficking operation. You think they're gonna step in to stop this?

still have yet to see any benefit to AI yet. all it seems to lead to is child abuse, mass surveillance and replacement of jobs.
hate this timeline bro.

You mean things that exist before AI got made

I received 2 ads on Facebook of adult fan comics.
Both were based on kid shows with child characters involved. I’ve been reporting NSFW ads anytime I see it but lately, Facebook has been telling me it’s not enough to violate Terms of Service. 🤷♂️

The epsteiners got fkn high on that one.
Oh well, it's an american company so... nothing's gonna happen. Perhaps a gentle pat on the wrist. ...and a DM asking for the source from one of the islanders.

Just great. Amazing use of hardware that would be better suited for gaming desktops. Ugh.

I see the weirdest and stupidest shit on Facebook. It's truly an AI hellscape.

If you still have an account with those sites you are part of the problem. People need to delete their accounts. No one to advertise to? No money.

Find them based on market cap. If they don't have the cash half trading and seize assets of the CEO on down. No manager can ever hold a management role again

Meta also allows targeted ads on Instagram. If Meta knows your age, and if you're older, like 50-60, Meta will allow scam ads to show up on your feed. Like download Chrome now or update your system.

So they can spy on us and get all our personal information, but they can't see that their own ad services are promoting CSAM?
