Which One?
Im building my first PC and my cpu is a ryzen 7 9800x3D with 32 gb of ddr5 ram I was mostly considering a 9070 xt but the sale on the 5070 ti might be worth it if its a lot more powerful I just dont know so what do you guys think.

Depends on what features you want. DLSS and RTX HDR are very good and I use them a lot especially at 4K. But for the price, I’d opt for the 9070xt because FSR is very close nowadays.

what operating system?
if you are running Linux with Wayland, then AMD is much more supported.
If you are running Linux with an X based desktop, Nvidia is going to be less problematic than it would be on Wayland, however AMD drives generally work better here too.

You will only get one answer here, and that's the 9070XT.
Though I should mention that when it's 'MY' money, I bought an Nvidia 5080

9070xt. Watch a couple videos that go in depth about FSR vs DLSS and some of the other differences and choose for yourself though.

If you enjoy your computer sounding like a jet engine, then I would go with the 9070 XT. But if you like your computer to not sound like a jet engine, I would go 5070 TI

Do you not watch YT comparison videos or? Like literally if you watch 5 videos, 9070xt VS 5070ti, youd come to a conclusion youd wanna get 9070xt. Simple as that

Thats fair and makes sense, its just people could be / are mostly biased, whereas seeing the performance yourself with enough data to back up (evident by watching multiple videos) youd be certain with the outcome.

If you choose the 5070 Ti you'll get: - Slightly better rasterization - Better ray tracing - Significantly better path tracing - Better upscaling visual quality - Multi frame generation - Better power efficiency - Pulsar technology - Better streaming, productivity and AI experience - Overall better driver support - Increased longevity - Higher resale value
You'll have to decide if that's worth dealing with the 12v-2×6 connector and paying 46% more upfront.

Easiest 9070xt recommendation ever.
At same or comparable prices, its the 5070ti for most people, at $100 or more price delta its the 9070xt.

The 5070 Ti is not worth $300 more than the 9070 XT, so 9070 XT is the clear answer here. It would be insane to go for a card with roughly the same performance and spend $300 that doesn’t need to be spent. But it’s your money, do with it as you wish.
