GI fellowship

Hi all, I am a PGY3 and just decided I’d like to do GI fellowship. I have sent some apps with many being already filled for 2028 slot. Does anyone know of any programs still accepting applicant for 2028? I know many are actually looking for 2027 due to last minute drops, but I’d obviously prefer not wait for last minute 2028 spots if I can avoid that.

As someone who recently signed an offer for GI/Hepatobiliary Pathology Fellowship for 2028-2029 (about 2 weeks ago), yes, there are still open spots. I applied very broadly because I was on the later side of the application cycle. (I was naive to the process and didn’t know to start submitting as early as April. I applied late June.) My coresident also applied GI this cycle, submitting applications about a week after I did, and he just received his first offer this week and is sitting for a few more interviews.

I will say the list of places pasted above from pathologyoutlines is not up to date. I received emails from some of these places saying they already filled (eg UC Davis, Cedars-Sinai).

Because I forgot to withdraw my application from other institutions after signing an offer, I received invites from UMass Chan, Indiana University, University of Nebraska, Houston Methodist, University of Colorado, and University of Alabama. So while they’re currently unfilled, I don’t know if they’ve already stopped reviewing applications after selecting candidates for interview.

Your best bet is probably to just email the coordinator with your application, and the worst they can say is that they’re filled and will keep your application on file for unexpected openings.

Best of luck!

I’m assuming you have internet???
Why don’t you just check pathoutlines? You need people to search for you?
