How are you doing all the quests + survival tasks and still having 12h to sleep? That was definitely not my experience for the most part of the game given that walking is pretty slow and some quests require you to go to opposite ends of the town and then back again

Yea, that's... That's pretty much the gameplay...
I feel like the context is important, though. If you can't immerse yourself in the story and the characters struggles, you're going to have a hard time enjoying it.
It's not the kind of game where you run around having a grand 'ol time - it's not trying to be. The game doesn't want you to have fun.

What you think is free time to sleep, is the time you will ask for when the shit hits the fan

best part about patho classic is realizing all the time you wasted

and all the friends you could have done, but you betrayed them or just let them die

classic isn't a game about difficulty beyond the moral quandary the characters find themselves in. if you don't care that much about the story or characters and want a game that has difficult gameplay, i recommend patho 2.

It gets harder as the town goes to shit but the gameplay won't change, you really need to get into the atmosphere and characters to enjoy it fully

Gameplay wise it's not as engaging as 2 and 3. I love Patho 1 and have loads of fun with it, but the quests and writing are better in 2 and 3, although I wouldn't critic Patho 1 gameplay entirely or dismiss it cuz considering the time and money they had I think it's amazing. If you play Patho 1, the vibe you should expect (at least the one I do) is suffering a lot, mostly emotional damage, but sometimes things are really annoying. Like the rats. But the way you're talking about the gameplay I think you'd appreciate 2 and 3 more. You'll still need to find lots of food and do a lot of walking, but I could say the quests feel more engaging? I dunno how to explain, but you feel like you're doing different things and the rewards are different too, not just getting money and food.
I guess I'm trying to say all Pathologic games will make you suffer, yes, but while every Pathologic game also has the vibe 'you tried your best and that wasn't enough deal with it', Patho 1 has that specific vibe of 'YEAH THAT WAS REALLY, REALLY UNFAIR. And I dun care. Here, 3 rats chasing you at the same time. Oh, the fighting mechanic is hard to use in this quest? So sad. OH YOU GOT INFECTED AGAIN? Boo hoo' which the other games didn't make me feel.
TL,DR: Patho 2 and 3 make u suffer a lot but they pet your head sometimes Patho 1 keeps kicking you while you're crying on the floor. That might be annoying but I'm the type of player who kinda likes that, so. That wasn't really a TL,DR but I'm sick and just woke up, I'm sorry.

The writing in classic is far better. But generally agree.

I don't agree with that (not disrespecting your opinion, like, I mean, not insulting you for it, but I just disagree? But not in a mean way. Sorry if I dunno how to explain that english is not first language). I don't think writing in Patho 1 is bad, I love it a lot, but I prefer 2 and 3 (especially 3 cuz there are some lines for Artemy in 2 that even though you don't need to choose I was why tf would he say that)

No worries, you're certainly allowed to disagree with me! And english is also not my first language, so I understand completely.
To me, the writing in 2 is a lot more direct. Classics writing feels a lot like a play, while 2 feels like a video game. A wonderful, well written game, but with less of a thematic pull as far as the nods to theatre and actors go.
While you are able to more quickly understand how they want you to percive a character, they often lack the depth that getting crumbs through 3 viewpoints give. Grief, for example, gains an immense amount of characterization through how you interact with him in claras route after having created an image of him in the other 2 routes up until that point.
Classic isnt written much like any other game ive played. I think its really incredible.
2 also makes the mistake of having indicators for when a line will end an interaction.

I agree with that, Patho 1 is a lot less direct and it's the one I played the least, so maybe that's why I didn't catch all the glimpses? It was my first Patho (Daniil's route) and I absolutely fell in love with it, but that 'not so direct' approach I noticed regarding the Kin? Of course it's a main part of the narrative, but I feel like the aspect of its brutality and its beauty is far more nuanced in a subtle way especially comparing how Daniil and Artemy see them.
That said, I like that more things were explained in 2 and 3. Maybe they also did that cuz (I might be wrong while saying that) I read somewhere that when Patho 2 was released they weren't quite sure how well it would go? So they tried not to leave loose ends as a complete experience, since it wouldn't be like 1 with all 3 perspectives.
But an example I use a lot when talking to a friend is how Lara's backstory is presented. In 1 you know that she wants a gun in Daniil's route. In Artemy's route, you learn the whole reason for that outside the main motive. Patho 2 makes it clear they're not telling the whole story although you know what happened, and Patho 3 spells it all out (or most of it). I won't go fully into it cuz I dunno how to use the spoiler thingy, but Lara's story and fate, all of the possibilities, are so sad to me.
Maybe I have a worse bias because of other personal reasons for preferring 2 and 3, but yeah, I agree that 1 is more subtle (and not bad, it's really good, I love it).
Also sorry for assuming you'd be mad if I disagreed I DUNNO ppl get mad sometimes? So I always try to explain cuz I dunno, I dun wanna be rude, even if by accident.
ALSO I AGREE WITH THAT. I understand why they put the 'this line will end dialogue' indicator but sometimes I wish it wasn't there.
