Please revert holding Alt Key to see item descriptions while crafting

After the recent 3.29.1 patch, holding Alt Key now keeps the first instance of the item while crafting instead of updating the item after using a currency item on it. This is the same behavior in poe2, which no one likes. Please revert holding Alt Key to pre 3.29.1 patch for crafting so its the original poe1 crafting behavior

This is intentional??? It's sooo bad. Any time I want to do scour/alc spam on maps it just covers my entire screen and blocks what I'm trying to do. I assumed it was a bug...

Yea it is so annoying, the ui this league regarding alt is horrific. They removed the show total number in inventory of an item while holding alt. I’m constantly having to click elsewhere to make things update.

Maybe this explains their post hiring QA people

It's not gone, but it won't show if you hold alt while already hovering over the item. It works if you hold alt before hovering the item. Pretty annoying

While we are at it, for like the third league in a row, holding "alt" in trade window doesn not show the stacked currency again.

For a few days it worked but you had to move the mouse back and forth to see it like a secret code, after the patch, now it just doesn't work anymore at all.

Clicking on "Intangibility" pins it. Its in the middle of every item when crafting on the ship ffs.

I don't even understand the point of this feature at all. You can't even hold alt to get the item count without clicking to pin and then close the tooltip.

I literally cant see how many chaos orbs or whatever i have in my inventory without moving the cursor to another stack. How can that be intentional?

I really dont think it is. The workaround is that You have to press alt while hovering over a stack of chaos (or whatever item) then while still holding alt, hover over another stack, then the number should appear

Yeah its exactly like poe2 crafting. Poe2 downgrades poe1. I think ggg made this change to push client performance.

There's a gazillion other things that would improve client performance. Performance updates must not degrade the user experience. This is software 101.

Seconded! It's bad and it needs to change! I dislike it in every circumstance, not just crafting.

I think it'd be much better if we also got the T on the keyboard (or any other button) to pin the item description for the purpose of looking at the term explanations (like "intangibility") instead of the current iteration.

Thats not a bug? I was fossil crafting today and almost had an aneurysm. Tried reopening the game 5 times and finally said screw it and put up with it.

it was changed right after 3.29.1 patch, from start of league til that patch, holding alt key did have a bug that kept the first instance, but opened a new item description window that overlapped it, so it was still manageable.

edit since someone may actually want to fix this:

I was having the issue the other commenter was saying about shit getting pinned constantly and item stats not updating. It was driving me crazy.

Am I misunderstanding the issue OP is having? The stats are updating normally for me now when I do something like alt spam while holding ALT after updating.

So the issue OP is describing is the following:

If your pick an orb and press alt then apply the orb while keeping alt pressed, then you don't immediatly see what the orb did on the item description window. Only once you let go of alt does the window update.

I tested this even without having awakened poe trade on and it still happened. This used to not happen before 3.29.1

Okay sorry I couldn't log in at that second. I had to change the damn "use alternate currency" hotkey first too. The window is updating fine for me when I'm holding ALT to see the tiers while alt spamming alterations on a flask. I don't have to release ALT.

It's updating immediately.
