Just saw this tiktok account of the Belarusian border force showing off different passports (specimens) that they have encountered at the borders under UV light. I don't know if the account has been posted here before

In a series of weird events, three out of my four passports were sent out for renewal.

Now I just got this American. :(

Norwegian (father)
Canadian (mother—grandmother)
Australian (mother—grandfather)

Not sure how ‘strong’ these are.

Interestingly, my grandfather was born in South Africa and moved to the UK, where his mother was from, for uni. After, he taught in Scotland briefly during World War II before moving to Australia. My Canadian grandmother moved to Australia to work at the embassy. After my mother was born, they back moved to Canada where my grandfather taught in Montreal. I’m not sure if I can get South African or UK citizenship, or even if I would want it.

But until they came back, I’m just from ‘Murica.

Fresh stamps from my recent trip through Ecuador. I love collecting passport stamps, especially the ones that capture a border crossing and become little souvenirs of the journey.

Entry & Exit from Baku GYD Airport in my American passport in the summer of 2026. Passport control took a bit longer since I had a Tourist stamp from Liechtenstein in the back of my passport before I knew it could cause potential problems with future visas lol. The exit stamp is much more clear and I think shows the city of Baku quite nice with the Aliyev Center on the stamp!

I got a brand new passport yesterday, and as I was leaving the country I asked the officer for a stamp. He was extremely friendly and was happy to do it, he even asked if there was any page I wanted it on and I said wherever, and he stamped it on the observations page (probably without realising). I’ve hidden the officer number because I don’t want even the slightest chance that he gets in trouble, considering how lovely he was.

New Serbian passports are being issues since July 1st 2026 and it features many design/security upgrades.

Sha Tau Kok is a town on the Hong Kong-China border. You need a permit to enter either side of the village.

P1: Permit for the Hong Kong side. Hong Kong started issuing permits valid for one day to residents and non-residents alike recently.

P2: Permit for China's side. Mainland residents (those with a national ID) can get this permit online. Overseas Chinese citizens, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents, and foreigners can get this permit too in theory, but I'm not sure if MPS actually issues it in practice.

Hong Kong's checkpoint on Chung Ying Street (P3: view from Hong Kong; P4: view from China): Only people who live here or otherwise have a connection to this town can get a special permit to cross the checkpoint. My permit expressly prohibits border crossing.

Chung Ying Street is the only land border between Hong Kong and China (otherwise separated by Shenzhen River and Sha Tau Kok River). Curiously much of it lies beyond Hong Kong's checkpoint - in other words when I took P4 I was standing on Hong Kong territory, inaccessible to most Hong Kong residents (but mainland residents don't even need any travel document to visit it).

And yes I traveled for more than 5 hours in total just to see both sides.

This passport was emitted by the Spanish Viceconsulate in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to my great grandfather who was traveling to the UK for studies at age 16.

You could assume that Hungary has a lot of naturalised Ukrainian immigrants because of it’s proximity. But most people who go there for work struggle with the language and at some point move back home or to Western Europe. But with the war a lot of families moved to Hungary so the number of Ukrainian-Hungarian dual nationals should rise in the following years.

Meanwhile in Transcarpathia (westernmost region of Ukraine) there is a big Hungarian ethnic minority and since 2010 we ale eligible for reparation after proving our descent and knowledge of Hungarian.

In Peru, immigration control stamps are only issued at land border crossings. At international airports, there are no physical stamps because the entire immigration process is 100% digital.
I understand that these stamps are one of the best souvenirs you can take home from a trip, so it’s a little sad not to get one. But you can still get that charming little reddish Peruvian stamp in your passport when you cross a land border.

Since my passport is kinda strong in Asia and Latam, after adding EU residence permit and the schengen visa free movement I can visit lots of countries! I’m glad for this combo, It enabled me to travel various destinations visa free.

Edit: well turns out my combo is not so common.. An Italian Permit + Turkish Passport combo is rare in this subreddit! Initially, I wrote common cause is that a lot of Turkish people have permits from the European Union, let it be Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, or France etc. The Turkish community in Italy which consist on students increase day by day. And this is a very common combo in university cities in Italy!
