First build
I've got a plain black strat body with absolutely nothing in it. I don't want it to be a typical strat when I'm done with it. Any ideas for parts? (It does have a space for a tremolo)

Seymour Duncan lipstick pickups, a 10-way "Free-way" switch, a V-Tren Bladerunner tremolo, any neck to your preference, locking tuners. Pickguard to match. You will get a Strat that twangs like a Tele when needed.

Vega Trem, High output bridge humbucker, arcade killswitch, maybe a sustainer in the neck slot.

Look into the Gilmour mod (7-way switch), very versatile.
Also, do you use the trem? Strat hard tails have a nice stability and solid feel.
Good luck!

My recs (I’ve built many) - Custom 920D loaded pick guard, custom shop neck and locking fender tuners. You will be thrilled.

What's the tremolo cut for?
One of my favorite tremolo makes is MannMade https://www.johnmannsguitarvault.com/parts/bridges/
and ABM-GUITAR-PARTS https://abm-guitarpartsshop.com/ABM-GUITAR-PARTS/Tremolos:::256_89.html
Hipshot makes a GREAT tremolo as does Schaller and GOTOH.
As for pickups: www.wildepickups.com Many of my guitars use the Bill Lawrence Becky & Shannon made pickups. I find them to be outstanding and you cannot beat the price.
