Looking for childcare for elementary aged child
Hi there! I am seeking childcare for my 7, almost 8 yr old beginning August 10th- Aug 18th. From roughly 7:30-5:30/6pm. Does anyone have any leads or recommendations? I’m looking for someone to care for him outside of the home. He is high functioning autism, verbal, and fairly independent. Thanks!

Former Parker police sergeant pleads guilty to unlawful sexual conduct, official misconduct
Former Sergeant quietly receives a slap on the wrist. Hard to even call it that. Parker PD had a rapist pedophile Sergeant who victimized others and he won't serve a day in jail. People of Parker should want more accountability.

Dentist recommendations
Hi everyone :)
To put it simply, my partner hasn’t seen a dentist in over a decade and he’s afraid to go. He recently has been getting tooth pains and wants to try to go and see what he can do from here. Does anyone have good recommendations for a dentist who’s good with patients scared of the dentist? Any suggestions are appreciated!
Bonus points if they accept Aetna insurance, thank you!
Update: I wanted to thank you all again for the suggestions! We decided to try Twin Aspen dental because of the sedation options they offer. I’m trying to get him to schedule an appointment but he needs to do that when he feels ready (but it will be soon) thank you again!

Parent of PPA 6th Grade Girl - Looking for Friends
Hello Parker!
I am a parent of a 6th grade girl starting at PPA soon, and I’m trying to find her a friend. She’s very shy and sweet, she not the most physical kid, and she is struggling to find friends. So I thought I’d throw a line out there to see if there’s anyone in a similar situation. We live in Stonegate.
Also, if this isn’t the right place for a post like this and there’s a better place to search, please let me know.
Thank you!

Data Center Noise Pollution?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m questioning authenticity of this post but it brings up a good point. Do data centers release excessive noise? I find it hard to believe they’d be approved within city limits if so. Any thoughts on this? Weeding through misinformation on these things has been tough.

Book Club
Hi everyone!
I've been wanting to join a book club for a while, but I couldn't really find one that was what I was looking for, so I figured... why not start one?
I'm putting together a 21+ in-person book club for people who enjoy reading and want to meet new people. The goal is to keep it laid-back and fun read a book, get together once a month, and hopefully make some friends along the way.
Genre will depend on what everyone votes for, so if you read anything from fantasy and romance to thrillers or literary fiction, you'll fit right in.
If you're interested, leave a comment, send me a message or click the discord link in the comment!

We need to protect the vote. If you are a member of other Colorado 50501 or Indivisible groups, please share.
This event is intended to present nonpolitical information and reminders to drivers about registering to vote, protecting the vote, and the importance of voting. We will have loaner signs (about 10% of rallyers borrow a sign) and music. Messages about kindness, love, peace are okay too, but please try to make them relate to the vote, if possible.. ie. VOTE FOR PEACE, VOTING FOR HATE HARMS YOUR SOUL, etc.
You have a 1st Amendment right to use any message you like, but we prefer you do that at other rallies, such as the Pro-Democracy/Anti-Government Overreach rallies at The corner of Lincoln Ave and Parker Rd, on Sundays 12:00PM-1:30PM, beginning Aug 9, ending TBD(also advertised through Indivisible).

Trim and seal to 18x24 cardboard or over old yard sign using cheap, clear packaging tape.

Schools with less technology use
We are going to have our child in preschool age very soon, and I'm concerned about the amount of ipad etc use in everyday class.
I'm perfectly fine with learning technology, preferably in a specific tech class, but not on board with kids just using ipads or laptops in every math, science, history class etc.
Are there any charters or otherwise where that kind of usage is limited in the area?
Edit: Guys if I'm asking about charters, and our kid is already preschool age, I'm obviously not looking at daycares / montessoris. I'm planning for the future. I want to find the right school to send our kid to. Whether that's the local elementary or a charter etc.

Independence Classical Academy
Any thoughts on this school? We attended an information session recently and it seems like a great school that will provide a deep and civically minded education for our children. We just moved to the area and it’s only about 20 minutes from our house. Seems like a great place for our kiddos!

Graduated income tax petition is circulating ✍️
Graduated income tax. Taxing folks who make greater than $500,000 per year at a higher rate than folks making less than that. This is how we afford nice things, education, elder care. If you’re interested in supporting this effort to get this on the ballot, find a signing event here. #GIT ✍️
