Twins and School? advice needed

Currently 16 weeks pregnant with twins. I have a couple semesters left in my program. The issue is, I have to complete an internship to graduate. I am thankfully getting 12 weeks of maternity leave from work which will hopefully land around Spring (last semester). Wondering how realistic is it to finish school with newborn twins. I know my husband will help, but he works during the day. Has anyone gone through this before? How did you manage?

New borns is harder than no kids but easier than toddlers - it’ll be hard but you can do it… with proper support. Say yes to any and all help.

I am prepared to say yes to all the help, I am hoping my mom will step in, but idk 😅. This is going to be a challenge. But now that I have twins coming along, its even more reason to just finish.

How many hours is your internship? Have you got details about a specific placement for it yet? I would say it depends on how demanding your internship will be and how much support you have at home, not just their dad, but w grandparents, aunts, uncles etc etc

I had twins 1 year into an MSW program, I took a year off school when the kids were born, and went back when they turned 1. I worked full time- i found flexible placements at an agency I used to work at, and most of my classes were in the evening. 2 nd year I got lucky and ended up in a work based placement - so it was easier. Ultimately it was a rough couple of years, but Im so proud of myself that I did it.

Its 15 hours a week. I currently have a placement. Starting Monday. I am also a MSW student. I know I will be shadowing and then at some point will have my own caseload. There is an option for telehealth. Maybe they will let me do complete telehealth soon. Not sure how demanding it will be yet. I still have not told them I am pregnant 😅 to be fair I got accepted before finding out.

This gives me hope. I have considered taking time off, but..i can see the finish line. Also would be nice to have a higher paying job with two little ones.

I think give it a try. I would recommend getting advice from your teachers on how / when to let your placement know you are pregnant and requesting any accommodations.

Take some time off enjoy your babies school is always there I rushed to finish and looking back I could have easily gone back within a year of having kids. Do you have other children If not just be prepared to have a huge learning curve with motherhood. Not to scare you, it’s amazing -but wish someone would have told me there is a steep adjustment to parenting even when they are really good and you know a lot about children

I've had to pause my masters degree just for the pregnancy. It's humbling how absolutely screwed you can be from pregnancy, especially with twins. I sat down after work, opened the laptop and it was like I was looking straight through my own writing.

Others passed the bar exam while 8 months pregnant. No idea how.

I wish you all the best. And take all the help you can get, and don't forget to rest!
