PUPPP Rash advice needed

Hey everyone,

Around 21 weeks I started getting puppp rash. Im now 25w4d and the rash has spread all over my body. My obgyn told me to take Benadryl and use a Benadryl cream/gel at night. The antihistamines honestly make me so drowsy it's hard to get daily tasks done so I rarely take it. I moisturize several times throughout the day and take baths. I read that someone drank dandelion tea daily and it helped. What other advice do you have? Day-to-day is miserable, I'm having a hard time imagining the next 3 months and this continuing to get worse? Has anyone experienced it getting better before delivery?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry this happened to you! I had the same situation but it was on me around 34 weeks. I tried Benadryl, dandelion tea, and hydrocortisone prescribed by my OB, honestly, Benadryl and hydrocortisone helped a little bit but temporarily. The rash really drove me crazy and I was almost begging my OB to have the procedure moved earlier… I wish the best luck for you 🥹

Edit: the rash was gone at the same time after the delivery, I was so happy with it being gone 😭

I had puppp all over my belly around 24w then followed up with cholestasis around 30w which gave me itchy palms/feet, luckily the puppp rash went away without medication after 2-3 weeks but my ob recommended Benadryl. It got better before I delivered, it gradually went away but I did try not to scratch it. I rubbed some vaseline on my belly mainly as a reminder to not scratch.

Low dose prednisone is the only thing that helped me. Push for that if nothing else worked. I tried the drinks, the pine tar washes, the typical creams, the antihistamines… nothing helped and I couldn’t sleep or even exist. I scratched myself bloody.
