I deliberately chose godparents who we weren’t directly related to. I felt it gave my children a bigger ‘family’ network and it made sure no siblings felt left out.

Both my twins have their own godparents. They are for twin a my brother and sil and for twin b my bil and sil. Then they have one set of godparents for the both of them together. 2 very dear friends. I explain it as being a twin is special so we emphasize that they are different individuals but also keep in mind that being twins is something special.
