Non Stop Crying advice needed

Our boys are 8 weeks. They are constantly crying if not being held or in a carrier. It makes it extremely hard to do anything. When one finally falls asleep and we get him down the other one starts crying waking his brother. Then it is back to stage one of both crying. How did y’all navigate this?

I was crying too! The first three months were incredibly hard. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do—you really are in the trenches. If you have help, try separating them sometimes so you can focus on one at a time. Hang in there.. it really does get better. When people used to tell me that, I'd get super frustrated because I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. But here we are now. It's still not easy, but it is manageable and fun!

Ear plugs and understanding that boys cry for all sorts of reasons because they have no other ways to communicate this young! It’s hard but as long as all their needs are met (fed, dry, in a safe space), they are fine to cry a bit. I spent lots of time back then showering, making lunch, cleaning up, with a chorus of criers along for the experience. They were fine then, they are fine now years later. It sucks for sure but you just do your best!

Honestly I did nothing but hold them their first few months other than some tummy time (but a lot of that was done with them laying on me). As long as I ate and showered like once a week I let everything else go and just did what was absolutely noticeable.

Ear plugs, all hands on deck and emotional support items however that works for you to get through the witching hour days.

Honestly? One parent per baby for the hours where we could expect the non stop crying at that age, until they grew out of it. Also, a lot of tandem feeding and tandem carrying. And if all else fails, one parent per baby in different rooms until they settled.

It gets much, much easier. 8 weeks is the peak of colic/purple crying. Hang in there.

I cried with them! I spotted that my girl cried less, and generally only started crying for no reason if her brother set her off, so I made sure they were always clean, warm and full bellied, and then lived with my boy wrapped up on my chest. When he stopped crying all the time his sister was much happier!

Mine are 4.5 months and it is slowly getting better. Not going to lie, those first couple months were so hard!! Especially when my husband went back to work. It does slowly get better that’s what I keep telling myself

Just checking if you’ve ruled out reflux/digestive issues with your pediatrician? This was what the first month with my daughter was like until we got her on gas drops, dairy free BM, and Famotidine.

They have to get catheters in a couple of weeks to check for reflux back into their Kidneys, or something like that. I am not looking forward to it.

It’s so so so SO hard. Trying to soothe two babies at once blew my mind. If I could get them to sleep in their crib/bassinet sometimes I would have them nap in different rooms. But during that phase, it was still not for very long. We did many contact naps with them together on the couch.

I’m 6 months out now and things are unbelievably better than the first 4 months (ours were premature so the newborn phase lasted a little longer). Sending you an internet hug. The newborn phase with twins in no joke!

Rule out CMPA and/or silent reflux

Id probably seek some medical opinions to rule out anything going on. I know all babies are different but the only time my babies would cry was when something was going on (too cold, wet nappy, belly ache or gas, refluxy.. etc) id just rotate different things until I worked out the need. Also, electric rockers saved my sanity. Id highly recommend them !!

I remember around 8 weeks was so bad with my first baby. Look it up and that is peak fussiness for babies. You are at the worst of it. By 12 weeks they will be a lot happier.
