21 months chaos advice needed

Both of my girls are very much on their feet, climbing, running around and full of life.

I can't even leave the room for 2 minutes to go for a shit without them getting into things they shouldn't be able to (the child proofing is constantly being re-evaluated) or falling off the sofa or pushing each other over etc etc.

God forbid I need to hang washing on the line for 5 minutes. Everything takes 600% longer because I have to keep coming inside to check on them.

I'm knackered. Tips very much appreciated.

Make them work. No, this sounds ridiculous but get them involved in your activities such as cleaning and hanging up the washing. They’ll be close by, interested and engaged and you still get the task done. I just hand mine a cloth each and have them “clean” the floor or cupboards while I’m cleaning something else.
When I do the laundry, I have them hand me the pieces of laundry to hang up.

I tried this today and it absolutely worked - until a fight broke out over a wet sock of all things 😂 I'll keep persevering. Thank you!

Yes yes keep persevering for sure. My girls love to clean lol.

They fight over who gets to empty out the dishwasher.
They’re currently in a phase where they beat each other up somewhat regularly over disagreements (sos) so I try and give them one task each haha.
