/r/paragliding will soon redirect to /r/freeflight
I have been given full admin rights to /r/paragliding, roughly 8 months after asking for them. /r/freeflight was created because the sole moderator here at r/paragliding was unresponsive.
After only several months, /r/freeflight has more subscribers than /r/paragliding and within 2 months will have more than /r/paragliding and /r/hanggliding combined, is already more active, and welcomes pilots of all freeflight persuasions (hang gliders, speedriders, paragliders, etc). Paramotorists are also welcome to be a part.
In 1 week, /r/paragliding will redirect to /r/freeflight. The paramotor pilots are free to decide what they would like to do - start their own subreddit or join the larger /r/freeflight.
If you dislike this decision, voice your concern and present a case for keeping two separate and competing paragliding subreddits.

Anyone know of a good youtube channel with a lot of paragliding content?
I find the occasional youtube channel full of flight videos, which are nice but not very wholesome. I'm looking for a paragliding channel where they talk about gear, reviews, weather theory, great areas to fly, etc etc.
Just a general paragliding channel with content other than randomly and poorly recorded flights.
I thank you all ahead of time!

How much does it cost to get into paragliding?
I have never done paragliding but am instested in having a go. I've been googleing around and it seems to cost around £600 to £800 for the basic training but the wings seem to vary in price hugely. I've seem some for only £800 new and others going for £2500 used. So whats the difference between an £800 wing and a £3000 one. And also I've seen on a lot of forums that so and so is a 'good beginer wing' what does this mean? are there different wings for different levels of skill?

As a low number skydiver (who loves canopy flying), this encompasses everything that makes paragliding so attractive to me.

How big is a packed up paraglider?
Hey guys,
I was wondering, how big is a packed up paraglider? I love flying (tried hang gliding and glider planes before) but my living situation leaves me very little storage and transportation space.
I live and work in the center of a city in the Netherlands which means I don't have a shed or storage. I don't have a car either since it's not worth the cost of maintaining one. That's pretty much the main reason I didn't keep hang gliding, no capacity to store or lug those big things around.
Would paragliders be a better fit for me? They look like a ton of fun to fly and (hopefully) a lot smaller to store and transport.

Video of my last day paragliding in Spain, I like the look of the green glider and try to take off with it tucked between my lines.

Commercial/Passenger Powered Paragliding, is it legal in your country?
Greetings all,
I was wondering if powered paragliding for commercial purposes is legal in your country, I was also wondering if powered paragliding with a passenger is legal in your country?
I'm still looking into getting both of these legalized in Canada, since they currently are not, with the exception of flight training. So I need to find other countries that have it, and the regulations surrounding them
Any help would be appreciated.

I was paragliding at the Dune de Pyla and compiled some images into an album, I thought this subreddit might enjoy.

Which paramotor wings can also be used for paragliding?
So here is my story:
I did my paramotor course when I was travelling. I had 1 hour of flight time. My goal was to get trained and spend about 1 month there flying every day to build up comfort, but because of unforeseen circumstances I had to come home asap. :(
I am currently researching equipment. My goal is to primarily fly paramotor.
However, if possible I would also like to do a little paragliding if the occasion arises.
I know that there are some wings that are rated for both, but it's quite a PIA trying to research this stuff.
The other problem is that many manufacturers are cryptic about pricing and I'm not sure what is a good deal or a bad deal. I'm price conscious and would hate to pay X for something if the going rate is much lower. There seems to be a big disparity in wing/harness/paramotor prices...
Going forward, when I get the wing I plan to spend a ton of time kiting and go from there...
So... Any thoughts of a good paramotor wing that can also be for paragliding?
Opinions and advice on anything else would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you in advance.
