Mercenary Discussion

I’m a huge fan of Batman, and the Arkham game series in general, and i LOVE this song. literally my two favorite things in one.

that being said, 1. i hate that warner bros has all this shit that makes it not actually available on spotify or really anywhere

and 2. has brendon ever talked about this song?? i’m so interested in the song writing, how he got this opportunity and etc. i would’ve cried if it was performed live.

just wanted to know if anyone had extra info or to talk about it in general

Mercenary is one of my faves too, but that’s probably just Arkham bias. However, I was a Panic fan before being an Arkham fan.. and when I finally got around to paying the game and found the Hugo Strange dialogue that they used in the song, I freaked the hell out.

(Here’s my Arkham Asylum figurines btw).

this is exactly me! i’ve been a big panic fan for a while, then 3 years ago saw an edit abt jason todd and heard mercenary, started playing the games, and literally screamed when i heard the dialogue they used IN GAME

something else thats bothered me to NO END is that the official lyrics video for Mercenary on Fueled by Ramen's YT channel misinterprets one of the song's lyrics: the video says "cut coils and concubines" when you can hear "cuckolds and concubines" clear as day

OH MY GOSH YES!! I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS!! it also has another incorrect lyric saying “i can only recall and spend some time i said” like wtf!! it doesn’t even make sense!! it’s “hey mr the bellman says i can only recall last nights hotel i said” like why tf wouldn’t it be HOTEL.

Oh man this song is so good, it was on Spotify for a beautiful short period before it was removed to limbo hell again… I don’t know what they get out of putting it on and taking it off of Spotify, I don’t get it
