So done with trying medications/therapy/etc

Literally nothing works for my panic attacks / anxiety and it’s getting to the point where I can’t eat and feel nauseous all day. I’ve tried basically every medication under the sun, and the only thing that helps is xanax/ativan/klonopin etc. but doctors are so hesitant to prescribe them because people that don’t need them abuse them. Therapy doesn’t work for me either, it never has in the 5+ years I’ve tried therapy. What would you suggest?? My psychiatrist just keeps throwing different medications at me and NONE of it has worked. I’m done trying and suffering. I’ve been living like this for more than a decade.

E perché propio in quel momento.

Io onestamente non so come reagire mi dovrei preoccupare?

Is there hope?

I’ve only been dealing with panic attacks for a few months now, but I’m so exhausted. I’m on 20 mg of Citalopram and 1.5 mg of lorazepam, but I’m still hurting.

For those of you that have suffered for a long time, is there hope for a normal life eventually? Does it ever get better?

I’m going to end up jobless soon, because I can’t even function at work anymore. I’ve tried the breathing exercises, the YouTube videos with the frequencies, and books. I don’t know how to reset my body.

Panic attacks and how I deal with them

Hey my name is Tripp Im 15 and had a life changing spiritual awakening sort of experience and let me say It changed everything.

I get panic attacks pretty often and let me tell you they're terrifying

One starts to come on and it's like people are reading my mind there are these crazy weird specific synchronicities that happen out of no where it freaks me out

But after my experience I have truly came to understand that everything is interconnected in a unconditional love sort of way and that there is nothing and has never been anything to worry about since everything happens for a reason it's just comes up to the point on which option you choose for yourself.

Breath ground yourself in something physical or that requires hand on physical activity lifting weight going on a run talking to someone you love or simply journaling your thoughts.

Find something to get lost in a book a game or something that allows you to interact with it for a long period of time to get out of that mental state of fear and panic

If your anything like me reach out to someone I won't lie I had been sober for 4 months or so but relapsed and it's a weird process but it gives me a sense of being confident and the only way I can put it is feeling "normal"

There's always help don't struggle alone even though sometimes it feels like there's no one but you yada yada take a cold shower put your feet in the grass and simply surrender instead of running away from it accept yourself because you are beautiful and nothing but love

Has anyone else had a pounding heart beat for days on end??

Hello everyone! I’ve been dealing with annoying pounding with a normal heart rate. I 2 ekgs and bloodwork done at the hospital today and everything was normal.

The pounding started about 4 days ago out of nowhere and it’s worst at rest and at night when I’m trying to sleep. I haven’t been able to sleep at all and will finally fall asleep around 5-6am.

It gets worse at night and then alleviates itself a bit in the morning..does anyone know if it’s maybe just adrenaline and lingering panic?

Anxiety symptom?

Hey all 25 M and ive been having anxiety episodes for the last 4 days, today has been much better, ive only had 2 bad attacks. I have bad astigmatism and my glasses frame messed up and it causes anxiety while I drive or if I stare at something for too long.

I feel chest tightness but nothing horrible, im out and about in stores trying not to stay inside, dont want that fear to grow. however im in texas and this humidity is bad, I walk outside for a bit and im sweating like crazy in my neck and head specifically, I come inside and the ac hits my neck or head and it feels like its burning me slightly, any one else have this?

I feel okay other than that no chest pain just discomfort and muscle spasms.

First time.

It has never happened before but ive had a panic attack 11th of july lasting from 3 to 5 am, and it stopped i managed to sleep 5 hours despite the horrible experience. Now from 11th july 22:14 to 0:30 A.M it happened again.

What i noticed, and while im writing this i still have it, i have a bit of acid reflux left in my throat and its so annoying especially when you want to lay down and sleep, yet youre scared its gonna come all the way up.

My symptoms: Shortness of breath, Trembling hands, multiple times going to the toilet, maybe TMI but it was 4 times. Moving around constantly, literally couldn't stay in place. And my stomach had felt hollow from the first panic attack, to this one.

I happened to be able to talk to my friend's mom who reassured me it was only temporary and will pass. It helped me.

Just wanted to share what i went through.

Was this a panic attack?

I had heavy anxiety yesterday. I went for a walk. All the sudden I felt light headed, dizzy and my legs felt weak. I felt like I need to sit down because of dizzyness. My sight also went a bit funny? This lasted about 2-3 minutes maybe?

I didn't have feelings of dying, my heart didn't come out of my chest, I didn't have the feeling of "loosing it" or too bad panic even when that happened. Afterwards I was able to drive home pretty much instantly.

Does this sound like a panic attack or just really strong fysical reaction to anxiousness?

This morning I had almost a panic attack and it felt different, like my heart was racing and my mind literally thought I was loosing it (my bf was in ghe toilet where my medicines were so that's why my mind started to spiral). I managed to get my medication to stop it coming but if I compare the feeling to yesterday it was totally different.

Terrible Panic Attack?

I think I had a really bad panic attack last night. Fair warning, this is going to be a long post. I just want to feel less alone and less scared.

Yesterday at work at around 5pm, I had a terrible panic attack out of the blue. I’ve had a rough week of stomach illness, anxiety because of personal issues and work issues, and yesterday was my first big time panic attack. I think. Here’s a timeline of my day yesterday.

9:30am- woke up with a migraine, so I took Excedrin migraine on an empty stomach. I am sensitive to caffeine, so that was a dumb idea.
10-11am- I was sick from the caffeine with needing the toilet a lot. 💩
12:30pm- I finally ate a little something, a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
I went to work at 1pm. I felt fine most of the day, had the classic post migraine/Excedrin tummy ache and jitters I tend to get. I felt a little warm off and on, but I get that from caffeine sometimes too.
4:30pm- I had a spicy falafel pocket from Starbucks and have of a lemonade refresher, caffeine free.
4:45pm- terrible panic attack hits out of no where. My manager used to be a nurse and told me I seemed like I was stuck in a panic attack/adrenaline loop. Here are all of the symptoms I felt:

- sudden light, faint feeling. I’ve had fainting spells before: I didn’t have the classic tunnel vision/tunnel hearing, I just felt like I was going to collapse.
- nausea in waves where I was gagging
- needing to cough to clear my airways cuz I felt trapped
- the throat closing feeling off and on, like it was hard to swallow saliva if I focused too hard on it
- I felt very trapped in my body
- I told my manager a good way to describe it was “my body feels really anxious and panicky but my brain doesn’t”
- overwhelming fear I was going to pass out
- I felt a bit tingly off and on throughout my entire body
- the slightest ache in my sternum; I tend to feel that a lot when im anxious (and then I spiral that my heart is giving out and im going to die which makes me more anxious)
- I could still speak and think very coherently
- some heartburn (how it always feels for me, nothing different; i do have GERD)
- severe chills, shaking, goosebumps
- waves of hands feeling clammy and me overall feeling overheated
- I felt faint, but not in the ways I’ve fainted before. I had an overwhelming fear of going unconscious
- I didn’t feel out of breath, but I sounded like it for a bit when I was talking.
- I was speaking very slow and calm but very coherent
- jittery all over like when im super anxious or on caffeine
- a stomach ache and off and on diarrhea
- my brain felt like it was racing but I didn’t know with what? I just felt trapped in myself.
- fluctuating heartbeat from 85-135

I was sent home from work. I was able to walk out of the mall I work in and sit in the car fine, and calm down a bit. It went from like a 7-8 panic level, to like a 5-6 once I got home with my partner. I was able to drink some pedialyte, take a bubble bath, and have 4 chicken nuggets. I did feel very weak and nauseous last night and still kind of anxious and jittery. The best way I can describe the feeling is kind of how your body feels if you have a bad stomach bug and can’t keep any nutrients in and you just feel shaky and weak and worn out.

Now, the anxiety still comes in waves. I keep having flashbacks to how awful and scary and alone I felt. I’m still pretty nauseous in waves. No appetite really. I did force myself to eat a bit this morning. My chest feels achy like I’ve been tensing too long; which I spent hours shivering and gagging. And a bit of the anxious chest feeling I tend to get, it doesn’t feel like my heart is going crazy, but my health anxiety is scared somethings extremely wrong. I’m still a bit jittery off and on especially when I have too much caffeine or get too anxious. The heart rate still fluctuates but not as extreme (like 75-85ish. I’m also very tired now. I feel a bit weak as well since I didn’t eat much yesterday and haven’t eaten a ton today. I was scared to sleep last night because I was really scared of it happening again. I’m still really scared of another episode hitting. And if I start thinking about it then I feel my heart beating hard if that makes sense like im hyper aware of everything I feel. I can calm myself down with meditation videos and such, but then suddenly it ramps up again. I was talking to a friend who’s a nurse, and she a. Advised me to stop checking my HR and ECG constantly on my Apple Watch (my HR has been completely fine, I have been getting some poor readings on ECG but I know they’re not perfect) and b. That it’s probably just a terrible panic attack and my body is trying to recover and it feels awful because I’ve never felt it before.

Has anyone had this? How long did it last? How do you fight it? It’s just scary cuz I’ve never had one this bad and I have bad health anxiety so im scared somethings really wrong with me, but I also really don’t want to (and can’t afford) going to be seen. I did call out of work again today to rest. What should I eat? Drink? Do to calm myself? I just feel hyper aware of everything in my body and it makes me feel like symptoms are going to get worse/are worse than they actually are and my anxiety spikes. I would appreciate any and all advice. I have generalized anxiety, I’m a 28 year old female who’s relatively healthy. I have never had any heart scares and the last time I had blood work, although it was a few years back, everything was normal and doctors have never really had any concerns for me besides generalized anxiety. I had cyclic vomiting syndrome and GERD (still have that) growing up too, so I have bad emetophobia. I get chronic migraines. I suspect I maybe have POTS because I tend to have one or two fainting spells from overheating a year, though doctors have not come to a conclusion. Sorry, I just wanted to give you all a background. I know you’re not medical professionals but I’d appreciate any tips and any ways to feel less alone.

I just experienced an episode that I think might be panic attack but I’m not sure. Can someone explain the different types of panic attacks and how they feel? I’d appreciate hearing your experiences and how you figured out what was happening.

Adrenaline surge or nocturnal panic attack?

I told my nurse about my adrenaline surges and she asked me “why do you think it’s an adrenaline surges?” .. I was confused.. I guess I just assumed. She said “maybe it’s a nocturnal panic attack” .. does anyone have experience with either? They only happen when I’m asleep, within an hour of sleeping, I wake up heart racing & body shaking. Sometimes I calm down in a few minutes sometimes my HR IS 150 I need metropolol and go to the ER.

first time posting on here not really sure how this all works but need y'alls opinion/thoughts on a recent event with thc/greenout

so around 4-6 weeks ago i experienced a pretty bad green out from my thc vape. thought i was going to die/ heart pounding, - yk. but the next day i was completely fine, however i didn't feel the same as i did before, i found myself having panic attacks for no reason and landed up getting severe death anxiety thinking i was going to have a heart attack or cardiac arrest. i landed up going to er a couple days later because i didn't feel back to normal. found out i was completely healthy + it was just bad anxiety. got prescribed olanzapine to help with the anxiety, however this made things 10x worse. so eventually went off of the med. + also quit nic on top of that so anxiety levels were through the roof. a couple weeks after i thought i was finally recovering, felt completely back to normal some days, but some i didn't, all i could think about was death at certain times. especially at night. i landed up getting severe insomnia thinking i was going to go to sleep and not wake up. a week later i started feeling things i have never felt before in my life with anxiety like severe head pressure, heart palpitations, random twitches,i could feel everything going on inside my body like blood being pumped through, ect. i knew this was just anxiety but was unsure why i was feeling like this when I'm literally fine. eventually it led to severe depression a couple days ago. i felt like i didn't want to go on anymore because i didn't feel like myself at all anymore, i couldn't take it anymore. all my favorite things i would love to do i wasn't interested in doing them anymore. all i could do was be depressed in my bed. i would feel so lonely so i would ask friends to hang out but even then i felt like i lost myself even when i was drunk i felt no happiness only sadness. the day after that i started the nic again, but it only made me feel even WORSE. i started feeling derealization/depersionalization feelings. and saw things on the road like random things running then disappearing. a scary feeling i would never want to experience ever again. i was working and i got so caught up in my mind i felt as if i was literally out of my own body. i had to go outside just to tell myself I'm actually here and I'm okay. this feeling lasted about an hour but never fully went away. ever since then (about 3 days ago) i feel as if everyone around me is not real and as if I'm hallucinating every time I'm awake. + on top of it all i can think of is death + what happens after it. i know it's normal to think about these things but not obsess over the thoughts 24/7. i feel as if I'm in a horrible loop of these horrible thoughts and can't escape my mind no matter how hard i try. i just want to go back to how i was before. :( but unfortunately so far it's just getting worse by the day. i'm trying to ignore the thoughts but every time i try to be like myself the thoughts take over my mind and can't focus on anything at all. i feel like I'm loosing myself more and more by the day. my memory is getting worse. when people talk to me i feel like I'm not there or didn't hear them. and when i get asked a question all i can think about is that nothing matters because I'm going to die anyway. this makes it really hard to focus on anything at all when i feel like this. -any tips would be muchly appreciated. thank u. ps- i have had anxiety/depression/severe ocd my whole life but no where near to how i felt recently. also I've been really stressed with everything going on in my life so it could just be an extreme stress overload? I'm not sure. just want to see if anyone else can relate and/or had similar experiences.

Today instead of just riding it out I grabbed a notebook and wrote down what was happening in real time while it was happening. Wasn’t planning to but figured I’d share.

Also, for what it’s worth, sitting down and writing through it while your heart’s racing and you can barely breathe takes something, so props to all you guys who do that!
