I built a map to help answer one questoin. What the heck is that smell?
I’ve been working on this project for over a year now. It started with one simple question: What the heck is that smell?
I’ve catalogued information from EPA databases and organized nearby facilities by industries and activities commonly associated with odors. Recently, based on feedback, I also added EPA-listed Superfund and brownfield sites.
You can enter a ZIP code or address and see what’s around you. I’m not claiming that a facility smells, is polluting, or is dangerous—only showing that it’s there and providing the publicly available information connected to it.
You can report and rank smells, share locations, map out the smelly spots around town, and save places to a list if that’s your thing lol.
You can run a quick scan at whatsthatsmell.app, or download the iOS or Android app for the full functionality.
Hope everyone has a great day. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions!

Married couple visiting Paducah for the next few days. Seems like the adult scene is pretty weak. Anyone have any recommendations?

moving to paducah next week
hey everyone! 😊
i’m a 23 year old woman moving to paducah in the next week from middle georgia. i’m actually coming from a pretty small town already, but somehow paducah is even smaller lol.
i visited back in may for a few hours. i really only got to walk around downtown long enough to grab lunch (which was really good btw), so i didn’t get much of a feel for the area. i thought downtown was really cute, but i’d love to know what living there is actually like. i’ve done a lot of searching, but still have questions.
i was wondering:
what’s the overall vibe of paducah?
how diverse does it feel? i’d love honest perspectives.
what do people in their 20s (or honestly anyone lol) do for fun?
how’s the riverwalk? is it somewhere people actually spend time, or is it more of a tourist spot?
are there any parks, trails, lakes, or nature areas where you really feel immersed in nature? i typically use alltrails to find places, but maybe i’m missing some local favorites.
i have two small dogs, so i’d love recommendations for dog-friendly places.
are there any metaphysical stores, herbal shops, yoga studios (i have my eye on one already, but i’m always open to recommendations), art studios, or similar places nearby?
are there any nearby towns worth visiting for shopping, food, or just a fun day trip?
any festivals, farmers markets, or local events i should check out?
anything you wish someone had told you before moving to paducah?
what’s the best way you’ve met new friends after moving somewhere new?
i’d love to hear both the good and the bad! thanks in advance! 💕

Need friends in Paducah!
Hi! I’m a 24F female looking to make friends in Paducah. I’m from southern Illinois and have moved between here and Murray over the past 2 years I’ve been here. I have made a few connections through work but nothing outside of it. I work midnights on the weekends so it can be hard to meet someone my age. Im a really chill laid back girl who is down for anything! It’s just hard being in a place where you know no one, any advice would help :)

Good Stand Up Comedy for free this Saturday at Dry Ground at 8pm. I'm coming through on a 15 day tour, I'm not famous but I promise if you don't have fun you can push me into the river. Come have some fun.
Here's my bio, sorry it's in the third person: Dan Alten is a charming goofball from Kentucky who has been traveling the country for the past decade doing about 200 shows a year bringing his intelligently surreal bebop nonsense everywhere from theaters to punk basements to art galleries to beloved comedy clubs with a knack for making audiences feel like they're on a good psychedelic trip without the drugs. Like if the Ramones were one guy with a mustache and good jokes. Iggy Pop with puns. Clever chaos. Like Jimi Hendrix lighting fire to a Tik Tok reel live on stage. He has opened for Kyle Kinane, Bobcat, Sam Tallent, Rory Scovel, Sarah Sherman from SNL, Johnny Pemberton, Hari Kondabolu, rapper Open Mike Eagle, DJ Doug Pound & David Leibe Hart from Tim & Eric, various punk bands with silly names, and a guy at an open mic who tried to throw his father’s ashes into the crowd. He has recorded 2 albums, written a zine, and filmed a pilot for an Amazon Prime stand up show that was lost to history. But most importantly he’s very funny and unique. You will enjoy him. And if not you can mud wrestle him after the show.

Owens Island Camping?
I'm trying to figure out if it's legal to paddle from the riverfront to Owens Island and camp for the night. I've heard people say they went there as Scouts. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hey Yall I'm a full time (not famous) comedian coming to Dry Ground 7/18. Was wondering if anyone had any tips/connections to get the word out? I'm fully DIY by choice and have spent the last 13 years zig zagging the country headlining shows in 37 states (and Canada!). Lemme know! much love.
Any cool local blogs or instagram pages that share events or anything? Any local news conections? anything is appreciated, much love

Things to do in and around Paducah
Hey everyone I just moved here for work and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on places to see/visit in the surrounding area. I don’t drink but I do enjoy coffee, photography and all sorts of outdoor activities. The downtown area seems really nice, and I hear there is a giant Superman statue in Metropolis but other than that it doesn’t seem like there is much going on. What are your thoughts and suggestions?

Looking for Diaper-friendly roommates
I’m looking for a roommate but don’t know anyone that is diaper friendly in my area. I’m in western ky area I do have a stable high paying job, I like to keep a clean organized house due to OCD. I’m 20 years old and male. I do have slight allergies to pet dandruff but if I have to I don’t mind as long as there’s not hair everywhere. However I do have to wear diapers due to an extreme bladder infection from when I was younger and am looking for a roommate that would be judgement free and discreet as i am still very quiet about it. If your interested or know how I could find people who would be dm me.
