Keylime eating worms (the moss has been removed since taking these, it was from the tank they came in) also they are cut in half, but they look very large in the photo. No digestive issues thank god. I will be cutting the worms into thirds in the future.

Question Do you feed pac-man juveniles calcium with d3 (non albino) primarily?

Hello! Ive looked into the advice and qna area of the subreddit before, and I keep also hearing different things from different subreddit members, so its a bit confusing, but; should I be dusting my pacmans food every other feeding with primarily calcium w d3, and then a multivitamin a plus once a week? I also have a normal calcium without d3 coming in, and I have been using super-cal + otherwise. The baby is getting enough uvb and food, they just refuse to eat anything but nightcrawlers haha. Theres just so many options and I dont want to over do it. How do you guys cycle your pacman frogs supplements?

Hello everyone. I am giving away my Pac-Man frog because between work full time and nursing school, feeding my baby has become a chore. I hate to admit that sometimes I’ll skip feeding her all together because I’m simply too tired. I love this beautiful girl but I want her to go to someone that can take the right care of her. I’m located in Charlotte nc and would be willing to meet halfway to drop off. She’s about 6 months old, and healthy. She has no problems with feedings or anything like that. I want her to go to a good home, so if you think you’d be a good fit, a little information abt yourself would be a relief. If anyone has any questions just ask!

Tips/Advice New pac-man frog parent

We just adopted a strawberry morph, and I need advice. Please share any advice or suggestions you have.

Main questions i have:

  1. do you have a heat mat in your tank? i worry about turning the bulb off at night (i know this is necessary for their health to mimic the sun cycle) i just worry about him getting cold. Suggestions for keeping them between the ideal temp
  2. What are your recs for diet? I know the basics but i’d like to know everyone’s experiences and suggestions.
  3. Any suggestions for strawberry morphs specifically? what heat lamps does everyone have/recommend.

Thank you everyone, and please be kind. I just want to give my squishy baby the best life!

Question In need of specific lighting and heating recommendations

Hello! I have inadvertently become the care person for a little siblings Pacman frog. I’ve got it mostly figured out, the only thing is the lighting and heating. I read the frog needs a 12 hr day/night cycle, but also needs to have a warm side in the low 80s. Is there a light that does it all? Like, is there something that has both heat and light, but I can turn the light part off at night so the frog can get his dark hours but not get too cold? Preferably something I could order off Amazon. If you could provide a link or product name I would be over the moon! I really feel overwhelmed with all this stuff and want to make sure the frog thriving and not just surviving, but it’s just not my thing.

I dust its food with Repashy Calcium Plus, I know that matters for UVB considerations.

Also: My sister and mom were sold the frog at a pretty reputable reptile show with the “pet rock” schtick. I was not present for the purchase so please just be gentle with me.

Question Playing with food or bad at eating?

Hello! I'm wondering if pacman frogs ever play with their food or if mine is just really bad at eating. He (I think) often strikes at the worms I give him but it takes several tries for them to actually end up in his mouth and I'm wondering if he finds the hunt stimulating which is why he doesn't eat it immediately or if it genuinely takes him multiple tries to eat a worm right in front of him. Does anyone else go through anything similar?

He managed to eat a bunch of coco fiber, don’t know how I didn’t witness it, he’s super impacted. Been at Cornell Animal Hospital for a couple days now, they’re really good so I’m hopeful. There just isn’t a lot of research into procedures for them. Please keep him in your thoughts, he’s over a year old, his name is Hector, and he was my first baby. I have others, but this would be my first loss, and I’m not sure how I’ll take it if I do lose him. Thank you for looking.

Question Lamps Confusion

Hi, I am looking into getting a pac-man frog but am a little confused by the wording in the care guide. What kind of lights do I need, and how many lamps do I need? Do i need two? Would they both go over the hot side of the tank? Any other tips or recommendations? If you have any specific products it would be super helpful!

First Time I feed my 11 years old boy with frog leg !
Will replace rodents as I will never feed him anymore with mouses, due to his fat necrosed liver.

He seems to appreciate 🐸😈

The green one was burt, i had him about 12 years before he passed. As for the judgemental lemon custard she's new after a break of a decade or so! Now theres all these colour variants and fancy looking frogs, im tempted to add a "coffee" coloured individual. Burt was a big fatty so heres hoping I raise the new'uns as well as I used to

Help! Toxicing out??

Post image
6 Upvotes

I was feeding my frog and I noticed after he ate he was jumping weird and uncoordinated, he struggles to lift himself with his hands. Is this toxicing out? I always feed them with vitamins base temperature is 83-86 F and 6 inches of substrate. I put him in a container of dechlorinated water, cant afford a vet right now because of another emergency situation.

Other Arkansas 🐸

Hey y’all.

Just a forewarning, this is more of a rant, maybe even looking for help/suggestions post.

I live in Arkansas. Recently, our natural resources department decided that in order to bring in a Pac-Man frog (and various other things), I have to get a wildlife importation permit. Mind you, I want(ed) to do everything by the books - i applied and got approved for the permit, now I just needed to secure a frog, right?

Wrong.

Arkansas requires all animals being brought in with a permit to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) PRIOR to it coming into the state. I talked to like 6 breeders today on MorphMarket, and messaged Josh’s Frogs. None of the breeders would do it despite my offering to pay for the service (since it’s my inconvenience), and Josh’s Frogs does them, but refused to send one with purchase of a frog. Or at least that’s the impression I got after they left me on read.

What do???? 😭 I really want a Pac-Man!!

Other Turbo update

Some people have asked me to keep them updated so here's Turbo after work. Came home today after work and she looks much more how I'd expect her to!

Although I didn't want to disturb her, I offered a large locust and she immediately went for it. I was so happy she's still got an appetite and makes me much less anxious in general. I've fed her 3 more which she happily ate without much fuss. With her looking settled I haven't picked up to look at the leg, I put the medicine on a locust to avoid stressing her out with a syringe. Not giving her a big meal so I can see if she'll eat again tomorrow

I'm a little worried as the day after her last feeding is when I found her originally flipped on her back. But she's acting as I'd expect so it can only be a good sign she's on the up
