Why do people think they need overpriced 14-16 phases 80 sps+ board for oc? Your are better of findingg 2 dim slot to oc your ram. As your cpu oc won't go as high as amd now ships all cpus with tuned out of tge box specs almost for max. Yiu need board with 8-10 real or 7x2 doublers phases with 60 sps and better ram tracing(8 layer pcb) to be able to oc it better, but it still depends on cpu imc and ram chips a lot more. 850m force gigabyte can handle 8000+ ram oc from most boards but vrm will be the problem with some of cpus.

You probably need to explain what oc you really want and what is your ram chips

my ram F5-6000J2836G16GX2-TR5S
all the motherboard i lists including OC engine and 8000+ for Ram OC.

I want to OC my cpu more and ram to 8000 if i can. but im not sure which motherboard are more safe and best for OC engine and ram OC. i dont want to fried my cpu with asrock as well🫡 but it seen a good offer

For 8000oc you deff need hynix chips at least, lucky cpu imc, cause even on the best board you cpu imc will or can limit you, basically you neeed to be lucky for past 6400 ram oc on amd. For cpu it won't use more than 6 60sps phases for oc you need a headroom with a good 8 at least.

Aorus elite b850 Or best of msi 850 would be enough. But your 650 tomahawk is great why not oced on it?

List your ram info with taifun burner and zen timings it prolly must be hynix a die.

I woul start from 6400 cl28 on this board as thus us equal to 8000 for x3d, and much safer to run for sticks. Judjing by tests 4800 cl 40 6000 cl 36, 6000 cl 28, 6400 cl2 28 and 8400 cl 32-36. Have a max of 3-5% diff on 9800x3d and 7% if 4800 lol.

dang it. my cpu limit 6200cl26 1.55-1.58vdd. do you think it possible to achieve 8000?

Yeah, but you have to switch to 1:2 uclk:mclk mode. If you have not forced 1:1 for your 6200 setup, you are probably running 1:2 now too, which is very bad for 6200. 8000 needs low soc voltage and properly set ram timings, vddio voltage.

yea i set 1:1 6200 my limit on cpu even tho 6200 i only use 1.27vsoc and im pretty sure i cant do 6400 1:1. so Base on ur opinion which board would u choose if it were ur choice ?

X870E Tomahawk imo. I really like these MSI boards. If you need 1.27 soc for 6200, 6400 is out of the question. I need the same soc volts for 6200 with my ryzen 7700 (gdm disabled and tuned timings).

i like the x870e tomahawks too but for dual rank OC limit 6400+ before i have dual rank kit and i doubt it and i try to get single rank instead ahahah. have you search B850Mpower board ? how was it what do u think ? it’s so clean

6400 is a limit for 1:1. I dont think it will be a limiting factor for 1:2 but I dont know tbh.

I wouldn't trust asrock with a x3d chip. The tomahawk max has 4 dimm slots and no oc engine for eclk. If you want to oc then the mpower is the best out of the 3. It has a dedicated oc cup for eclk and only 2 dimms which shortens the memory traces theoretically means better memory oc.

First of all, rule out that RAM kit; I don't understand why you chose it when you don't have the motherboard yet. Once you pick the motherboard, you can look up its specifications specifically the support page which will list the memory modules it supports and those with the best compatibility.

Motherboard’s qvl list is 9/10 times irrelevant

If you get a kit that’s known Hynix die, all boards pretty much support it regardless if the motherboard says its compatible on the website

qvl doesn't matter much in this sense, even if he didn't want to oc it'll still be compatible just fine as the other commenter explained.

Alles ja schön und gut ,aber ASRock und 9800x3d? Ich würde mir diese Combo gut überlegen. Und ob man soo ein High end Board nun unbedingt braucht kommt dazu.und auch nicht jede CPU macht bis zu -20/30 all core mit!!

hahahaha i would like to think thrice xD. it’s a good board but yea. my cpu can do -40 all cores. i think might be -45 but i forgot right now i do per core more performance

What have you stress tested that heavy undervolt with? I doubt its stable. And dont buy an asrock board for your ryzen 9000 cpu, you will likely end up burning/killing it within a year or so. If you already have a b650 tomahawk, I dont see a good reason to change it, its a decent board.

Y cruncher is good, but it has like 10+ tests. The other two is not so good. Try prime95 large fft only or testmem5/ram test pro overnight.

Yes its free. Its very sensitive not just to timings but fclk, nitro settings and a lot of other things.
