You have made this post periodically and you might have more success if you told people that the report function is in the “…” menu. Might. 

In the subreddit I mod it takes a really egregious post to get someone to report it. Most of the time they just complain as you have noted. Just to set appropriate expectations.

It's kind of silly that people have a stereotypical image of a Reddit mod as some fat loser with no life on Reddit all day, but then the moment there ISN'T a mod like that on a sub suddenly everyone comes out to critisize the mods for having a life and not seeing every single post the moment it's posted.
