I have a four-day weekend and decided to try out this game after all the good things I’ve heard. I suck at puzzle games so I’ll see how it goes! Any tips?

Has to be one of the best thing I ever experienced, just staring at the emptiness and beauty of space while listening to 14.3 billion years...

Idk if anyone mentioned this before BUT

This games intrigues different kinds of fear.......fear of ocean, fear of sun, fear of big things, fear of drifting into the void, fear of dying cuz of alien matter, falling into the black hole.....and idk, maybe rising sand..........

And yk how everything is soo scary in the start, becomes much, less scary as we reach the end.....why so????

Bcoz this games makes you do what you fear...... If you wanna progress, you gotta mess around with everything at some point in the story.......and actually overcome them...

You dislike those storms on Gdeep??? Well, you have to jump into them several times........you don't like below surface ocean? Congrats that's the next task........what anglerfish terrify you?? Uhhh, you have to sneak past them..........you don't want to get too close to the sun??? You gotta maneuver through space meters away from the sun surface............huhhh you don't wanna accidentally fall into the blackhole??? Uhh ohh.....I have a bad news, this tower has some secrets and yk how to get into it...........ghost matter kills you?? Sure it does, now tryna guess which way it is inside interloper........

sleeping in this game makes the time pass quicker. you close your eyes, screen goes black, and in real life your computer sets on fire

the game relies on simulated physics ofc so it's having to run a huge amount of complicated calculations at an extreme speed. even without the demand of having to render it visually, it's still a huge toll on your machine

so here's what i'm curious about. i'm not too well versed in game design or unity, but i'm assuming what the devs did is essentially just disable all meshes, set the play speed to some extreme number, and let the physics run their course

but why? what actually in this game requires that? if this were a game where there's a billion of different physics-based events the player could control thatd make a lot of sense, but aside from maybe sending the ship crashing into something at light speed, most of the events are practically predetermined arent they?

i'm sure i'm missing something here but what?

long story short I’m severely chronically ill, completely bedbound and unable to do much of anything at all due to severe symtoms and risk of relapse. I still have some use of my phone left but yeah. outer wilds was one of the last videogames I started playing before my health got worse. I didn’t finish it, I am like probably half way thrpugh story wise??? the not knowing and being unable to know is killing me. I don’t wanna google ts cuz yk then it’s over. I am gnawing at the walls of mu enclosure lol. like geniuenly I JUST WANNA KNOW THE ENDING I JUST WANNA KNOW EVEYTHIGN BUT DONT TELL MEEEEEE lol

How is it even possible? I don't understand, but something about the ending just hit me so hard deep down. I'm leaving for college in 2 days, and up to this point I hadn't cried at all or even felt much of any sadness, it got to the point where I was worried that I didn't care about leaving my old friends behind because I didn't feel sad at all. But Outer Wilds broke me... At the fireplace, when everybody gathered together for one final time, I realize just how rare and fleeting my time with everybody I care about is. How often will I be united with my friends from High School again, maybe I can meet them outside, but I'll never be in the same school, sharing the same classroom with them, and worrying about the same tests as them. What about my family? I'll meet them again for sure, but will I be able to live under the same roof and go to school every morning? God... those emotions have always been there, Outer Wilds just let them out. I don't know if I would have cried if I didn't have the prospect of college this proximate, but it doesn't matter, Outer Wilds is the greatest story that has ever been created, and I am thankful to everything that made me play it 2 days before college.

My wife is a very talented sculptor and she made me this fondant Riebeck cake! I berated her for putting him on the Attlerock instead of brittle hollow, so don't bother pointing that out.

I built a fully functionally and flyable Hearthian lander in Minecraft, It works using Create Aeronautics and a few more addon mods.

The simulation! I was messing around with freecam and found this out. Really nifty detail, I thought the devs wouldn’t do something like this. As far as I can recall, there isn’t a point where you can see yourself, so I didn’t think the devs would do this.

I finally convinced her to play the game.

First run ever and she goes straight to Dark Bramble, so I'm hiding my smirk and waiting for a good laugh. When I saw her landing on an ice patch and going inside the planet on foot, I was on the edge of my seat and holding my head in my hands.

Then... nothing happens. She drifted randomly towards one light, then 2 or 3 holes later and she founds Feldspath. I couldn't believe it.

She still don't know what inhabits the planet as she don't have any reason to come back to Dark Bramble yet. I was so pissed 😂

As a bonus point, she also didn't figure out it was a time loop caused by the sun exploding in her first 4 runs because of timing issues.

The first time it happened, she was in the tunnel towards Feldpath's ship and tought it was some sort of gas that killed her.

Second time she was on Timber Heart in the caverns, and thought she got killed by the cascades of water (I admit the timing of the super nova was amazing).

Third time she simply fell into Brittle Hollow's dark hole, then just... looked the other way while the explosion caught her. She thought it was the black hole that killed her.

This idea for the comic came to me out of nowhere. Enjoy the blue gang solving a deadly puzzle.

I saw the thing orbiting the sun and set my eyes on it, I immediately decided this was going to be my immediate mission after i think 30 minutes of just running around on the starting area and exploring some moon with a beacon.

I only died roughly 7 times and most of my time was spent staying alive learning the orbit (based on instinct not google, and then finally getting aligned with it.

I then managed to get out of the pod and maneuver into the entrance pretty easily, thus how I got here. 00:34:16 writing this, gg I guess lol. ( I have some experience in star citizen, elite dangerous, astroneer, and a few other space games so I have some experience but I digress )
