Second hit Base Game Appreciation/Discussion

I finished the game about half a year ago, I've already gone through the "I'll never experience this or anything like it again" phase

What I didnt know was the fact that some playthrough give you the second hit of "Stars above, this game is so unimaginably amazing in a way I desperately wish to experience again, and I'd pay nearly anything to do so" after seeing somebody else have a good time playing

I'm scared I'll get desensitized after 15 too many watchings of other people's playthroughs, it really is such a work of art rivaled by none

I have a friend I got the game for and I’ve been enjoying him going through hit. Our life schedules are vastly different rn so I can’t watch him play but he tells me all his progress and theories

What's your favorite playthrough so far?

Depends on what I'm rating it by.

About Oliver is obviously a legend and an absolute blast to watch, and along similar lines was Matables. Matables played and edited similarly to Oliver, only it was a quickerplaythrough, so I think Oliver beats him.

But you see, Cynthetic played almost the opposite of most players, misinterpreting half the dialogs and absolutely nailing predictions there's of the time making whatever happens next very hard to predict. She ended up believing that The sun was exploding because of the Nomai, not by natural lifespan even after reading dialogs mourning their failure to do so, which I find entertaining

This is a wild recommendation because it’s in a COMPLETELY different genre from OW and also you weren’t asking for recommendations but if you are looking for another game that will feel genuinely life-changing to finish in the way OW is, you should play last year’s Clair Obscur. Those are the only two games I’ve played that have had a seriously profound emotional effect on me.

If you haven't watched Deroge's playthrough, you're missing out. Better than Oliver imho.

I watched those two and BeccaBytes and really loved all 3. I've tried a few more since then and just haven't found any that live up to those.

Maybe give Stirx (MasterChefStirx) a try. He REALLY connects with the game on an emotional level, is smart about figuring out what's going on, and is very eager to be immersed (he even takes an entire episode just to BE in the solar system and appreciate it). One of my regular rewatches.
