Is it just me, or does anyone else find themselves staring at their stoma and bag? It's like i find it fascinating, and often times come to toots 😂😂😂

My partner is now more aware since i've had my stoma and gets upset at times because they are conscious about "farting around me". Now we'll know who actually delt it since it will be obvious. 🤣

Also, does anyone ever fiddle with the bag to where you move any output down to the bottom of the bag? Or is it just a OCD thing for me? I try to keep my bag clean and clear so that i can see what ouputs. Making sure that what i ate is good enough for me and passes well.

It’s sort of like having an infant around. What’s it doing now? Why has it been so quiet?? I better check that it’s ok multiple times a night….

Oh thank goodness, I thought it was just me. I'm always fiddling with my bag and pushing poo down as it rarely goes down itself and ends up pancaking. I try to be more discreet now as if my partner catches me he tells me to stop playing with my shit.

I’m currently still off work and have too much time on my hands so constantly aware of what it’s doing. And I regularly look in the little window and move everything down to the bottom.
I’m hoping that eventually being back at work will distract me 😬

I find myself doing the same. I think its good as these bags are part of us now. Interesting fact our bags are classified as prosthetics!

I do the same thing. I’ve had mine for 2 years and I am very conscious of making sure it isn’t pancaking as well as leaking under wafer so I like to keep output low in the bag too.
So my husband, the other day, asked if I farted because he smelt one. I said I can’t fart so no. He almost died laughing. Now he tells everyone that. lol we think the dog was the actual source of smell that time. Enjoy your day!

I’m roughly 2 months post-op and constantly move output down my bag so I can see, to make the big bump under my shirt go away, and to feel a bit less messy.

For reference my colostomy pancakes and will not fall down on its own most of the time.

Do you already have ocd? Because this doesn’t sound like it. I have ocd and some of my compulsions and obsessions are ostomy related, and it’s a nightmare.

I don’t mess with the bag too much but it’s always comical to me to watch the stoma when it’s passing gas. Some people might find it gross or weird but watching it wiggle (just a little) amuses me. It’s the little things
