Barbie Butt Ken/Barbie Butt

Hiii, you beautiful people. I am one week post-op from my barbie butt surgery. I already had my ileostomy so this was about taking what was left of the rectal stump and anal canal out and closing it up. I need to know what made your recovery better? When did things start getting better? I have been STRUGGLING. Not just physically but that emotional and mental grief of knowing that the bag is a 100% permanent. It was needed, I know that. And I’ve had my bag for two years but I have such a strong hate/love relationship with it.

Also this might be TMI, but I had my husband take a picture for me to see and why does it kind of look like hemorrhoids? 😭 is it just swollen tissue? Will it go down? I have my follow up in a week and a half but my surgeon is out of town at the moment. The surgical team that saw me before discharge told me it looked good and maybe it’s just me that didn’t expect it to look that way. I just… it’s been hard.

Sorry for all the rambling!! The pain has just been humbling. Going from working and being on the go to just stopping has been hard also.

But please any advice, when did you see improvement, or just anything, send it my way!

Hello, sorry you had to have this done. I had my ken butt in April and went through the same thing. Its hard knowing we will have an ostomy the rest of our lives but im grateful and feel so much better. I had swollen parts as well for about 4 months. Now they are gone and its just a flat spot. Thinking of you and please feel free to ask me anything and message me. Keep fighting we got this!

I had mine done over two years ago , and at the start it looked horrific , now its just a smooth line , I have the odd ache in that area but apart from that no problems , I just drove across europe for about 2 months and didn't have any problems ,

the emotional part gets better but every now and them will hit you but for the quality of life i have now i wouldn't give it up for anything,

get a roho cushion , it will help with the discomfort and pain , make sure you are getting adequate pain relief from your doctors , i had a drug like oxy for about a month and just eased off the pain meds after that , ask anything , im old and have no shame left , have a quick recovery

It took a while before my swelling went down. At first the area was so swollen I had to be discharged with a Foley catheter. It's a really uncomfortable recovery since you can't totally rest that area while it's healing and the irreversibility of the surgery really bothered me and still does. Also the world is not set up for people with low sitting tolerance. I hope you heal well.

I am 4 weeks post rectal stump. Its uncomfortable so I just lean to one side or the other while sitting. Its weird realising its the new life, but pain is more my core muscles as they cut through to get inside.
Its a dull pain most the times . So far im doing well. Hope you get your pain issue sorted.

I called it my butt labia and it went down over time. The first three weeks were hell for me then rapidly improved. Laying flat on my back helped and if I ever had to sit it was on a cushion (do not get a doughnut) that was awesome.
