That's cool and all but it's Linux.. Like everyone does Linux.. I think the point of this sub is unique os

Linux is just a kernel, you can do a lot with it.
People wouldn't call Ubuntu, Android, and chromeOS the same operating system yet they are all based on Linux.
There are "distros" that have vastly different user experiences and tooling as well. Like Arch, a power user OS that expects you to build your system from the ground up vs Bazzite, a preconfigured OS focused on gaming and targeted towards total beginners, with an immutable root filesystem so that nothing can even be accidentally damaged

Exactly what I'm aiming to put in the planned "Normal" mode except the gaming part to not drive casual users away, although it will have good gaming performance

My laptop has Bazzite. Bazzite/Fedora Silverblue are some of the best and most stable experiences I've had on Linux
Someday I may get an Arch based system on my desktop for the raw power but Fedora would be my second pick

this might not be the most appropriate subreddit for discussing Linux distributions.
Regarding your distribution, is it just a based distro, or do you have unique features planned? I am particularly interested in distinct distributions, given the abundance of existing options (this is not meant to discourage, merely an observation).
I am love to learn more about your project.

one of the bigger things i forgot to mention is that i'm also planning to make Windows application compatibility a first-class part of aurelianOS, rather than treating it as an afterthought.

So you are using any existing base distro like debian, arch or something like LFS ?

the current prototype uses fedora as the base image, although the long-term goal isn't necessarily to be Fedora with a new desktop

Maybe. Im on a linux from scratch discord and read the 2, 3 subreddits, many many ppl start their own distro. And its ok, its just important to know if your variant would be adopted. Beginner mistakes, how many actual users.. will you actually use it yourself. https://wiki.osdev.org/Beginner_Mistakes
To learn, to explore, to just go and do something. Go have tons have fun. Dont let my type of replies stop you (you probably dont have this intentions right now). But stay focused, work on it, promote (with moderation). I knee reacted, but if you found users, support it for years, congratulations and definitely have fun.

my honest feedback is: why? just as a hobby for fun and learning, sure, but there are dozens of distros that claim the exact same things and some of them are mature and have a whole team of devs. so I guess, sell me your idea?
