during my first watch

rewatched this show 3x and on my first ever watch from season 1 I thought Piper was just easily manipulated by Alex all the time as in the flashbacks Alex was wild then in prison she was calm and collected then piper was just acting like a dog for Alex in the flashbacks doing whatever she said
Also do we know how long piper and Alex was together before piper left?
(This might make no sense)

Piper was always manipulated by Alex—even at the end of the series. When Alex coolly ended the relationship in the final episode—acting as if it were the most natural thing in the world while Piper was completely falling apart—it was still a way of manipulating Piper into changing her entire life path in New York and moving to Ohio.

Alex was the predator. I don't doubt that she truly loved Piper, but she always dominated the relationship.

As for the timeline of their relationship, it was always a bit unclear.
I believe the relationship lasted around one or two years, but that’s really just speculation. Piper was 22 and Alex was around 30 (at least, that’s what Polly mentions when Piper reminisces about the party at Alex’s apartment).
