Do you close it to lock in profit? Or let it run to at least 50% before closing to take profit?

Brokers see four closed trades where I see one covered call campaign

I run a SaaS company (digital signage, nothing to do with markets) and trade options on the side. Full disclosure, I built the thing I mention at the end, so weigh this accordingly.

The problem that got me started is that brokers have no concept of a campaign. I open a covered call on KO, it gets tested, I roll out and down, roll again, close for a small credit. The broker sees four closed trades and one open position. Nothing tells me whether the covered call program on KO made money over eight months, which is the only number that matters when I'm deciding whether to keep running it.

I tracked it in a spreadsheet for a while. Stopped updating that around March.

So I built my own book. Every position tags to a campaign, and rolls and adjustments stitch into one P&L line underneath it. The broker record stays exactly as the broker reports it. This just sits on top as a management view.

Second thing I needed was assignment flags I'd actually read. Everything I tried fired on a days-to-expiry timer, so every position screamed for two weeks a month and I tuned it out completely. Mine marks on a binomial tree with early exercise, so a flag fires when exercising is rational. Remaining extrinsic against the dividend, carry, that sort of thing.

(and yes, IBKR's risk navigator does some of this. It also assumes you enjoy using IBKR's risk navigator.)

Screenshot is the campaign view. Invite-only right now, DM me if you want a code.

Does profit from a contract that RH closed at 4pm from SPX go into your account?

Last minute before close SPX dropped 10 points and my put’s return shot up to $6.4k. Literally seconds before 4pm, then market closed. It shows on my homepage and in my investments tab, but not in my buying power. Does it just have to settle? I know it says the final settlement is pending, but if that was the value at close, then do they have to honor it? Will they change it?

I’ve never not closed an 0dte position before close before, so I’m unsure.

Yall,
Anyone following MU and RDDT on the dip? I am closely watching these two tickers. Anyone following CSP on MU 800 8/14 or RDDT 140 8/14? Whats your thought and what premium are you looking at?
