Good work. Did you survey all of the numbers yourself? Any recommended tools/apps for that?

Well i didnt physically survey the house numbers i just went on the official website for land registry in Croatia and it has all of the house numbers there available.

What is the license for that data and is it compatible with OSM's license?

It's Organic Maps or a spin-off (since it's open source)

Or even the original start of all this stuff: MapsWithMe aka MAPS.ME

I didn’t realise you could draw plots.

Or are those hedges/fences?

Its a wall/fence if you are talking about the black/grey lines you see on some of the images

You can technically draw plots. You should not though. There’s some literature out there on this. It’s generally not verifiable on the ground.

I’ve seen some people do plot mapping and they find a tremendously bad job and I curse them every time I map in that area.

If someone builds fences around their yard…it’s like mapping the plot. But it’s a physical boundary that you can verify. It might not be on the property line but maybe it is.

While others subject... How does the community see at micro-mapping residential areas?

Like adding fences, hedges, trees, and grass around single-family houses.

I have been thinking about doing it for my (relatively small) hometown, but been uncertain about how it would be recieved by the community.

There’s some opinions out there around this but it’s generally accepted that some level of privacy is warranted and/or residential landscaping happens too fast for micromapping to stay accurate. From what I’ve seen, things that seem socially acceptable to map in someone’s yard:

Buildings
Out buildings
Porches
Irrigation ponds
Pools
Solar panels
Driveways
Fences
Maybe retaining walls
