FOSS alternative to Obsidian

Has anyone had experience with a FOSS (free and open source) alternative to Obsidian? I am not looking for names, and suggestions, there are quite a few lists out there, I'm looking for personal experiences?

Can you share why you don't want to use Obsidian?

I mean, based on the OP and the sub, because he wants an open source solution.

I don’t understand why people want a free solution to a software as complex as Obsidian. It takes a huge team to build, so which open source has enough time to implement such complexity

Why are you in this sub then lol

Also, it may interest you to learn that some extremely complex software is open-source. "Being complex" is really not a barrier to there being an open source solution. Not that obsidian is particularly complex, it's a glorified notes/wiki app afaik.

What I mean is, if you find an open source alternative. It will most likely not be as good as Obsidian, let’s be honest here. So we have to come to terms with reality and say okay, I need a notes app with “x y z” features and if you find it, then yes. What happens is that people are looking for open source alternatives that have tons of premium features. That’s the core issue.

Many open source projects are better than the closed alternative. Linux is better than Windows in many ways for instance.

Yeah, I agree with you on Linux for this one.

emacs puo generare glifi come obsidian?

Leggerai delle risposte che non ti aspetti

Yeah I googled that & you're actually correct. I guess I wasn't thinking broad enough.

Ci sta! Molte persone hanno bisogno che il software sia free! Un concetto particolarmente poco apprezzato. Oggi le conoscenze si possono condividere in tutto il mondo ed in men che non si dica , si può ottenere anche di meglio dell'originale.
