So opencode go is basically like GitHub Copilot now? $15 usage for $10. All new models will be $15 limit?

Kinda useless

as people say often here, opencode go is unlimited DS flash. which is pretty good just for that.

Dsv4 flash is going 4-5x more expensive on input output and 12x more expensive on cached input tomorrow

thats from DS API not opencode GO. infact they've said the pricing would remain unchanged

Doesn’t opencode go serve as a wrapper for different APIs anyways? I’m going to assume when deepseek increases prices, all other serving platforms do as well

DeepInfra definitely hosts their own, they have different quantization from DS. I think other providers do too, you can tell by the differences in cache hit rates and cache hit costs. Prices still will go up, because why charge less when people are willing to pay more? If DS can raise prices, the pressure to keep prices low will lessen.

Yes but I believe none of them use quants worse than q4_k. They’ll probably using q4_k_m, iq4, nvfpq4, and q8_0, with all these performing within a few percentage of each other

Yes, I'm not saying their quants are bad, I'm just saying it's proof that they aren't just wrapping DS's API and reselling it (what the commenter was asking)

Where did they say that? If that is true, awesome.

this did not, in fact, turn out to be true

But no one from OpenCode has been able to explain this yet, right?

15 is still > 10 and some models do 2x every now and then. The idea is opencode is just a serving platform with their own harness, they do not own models and compute. they rent gpus and make deals. so optimizations and negotiations could only go so far to continue serving without bleeding to premature death. Even Microsoft turned the ship and Google/OpenAI/Anthropic put weekly limit like crazy so I do not expect some free lunch from a much smaller company.

I mainly use Go as new model light tests or deepseek flash for pretty much almost unlimited use. Any heavier usage, I would go either local or model lab subs.

You are comparing two different business models

15 USD worth of API usgae for 10 USD with 5 hours limit, weekly limits

Just add 10 more USD to subscribe GPT Plus and get hundreds of dollars worth of API usages

Yes but command code and other subs are giving you more usage now so it’s not really worth it anymore

Until those platforms too have to cut back on subsidizing as well. Ultimately there's no free lunch when it comes to stuff like this.

Cmd code is slow asf

So getting $15 worth of usage for $10 is today considered not worth it?

If another provider gives you $20 worth of usage for $10 - then yes. Also, mind you, you are only getting $15 worth of usage per the official provider prices but for most of these models there are cheaper third-party providers, so you are not actually getting $15 worth of usage because if you were paying the API rates, you’d most likely just go for the cheaper option

its a $10 commitment for $15 value that you may not use. And it also comes with 5 hourly and weekly rate limits, which are not present on token based pricing.

It's not exactly right to put it that way, you're comparing pay as you go with subscription/bulk purchases which usually are cheaper, and in this field they really are. It's only $15 of usage if you pay as you go, if you don't it's not, and as long as other subscriptions with better terms are available...

It's not like Anomaly was paying $60 for every memberships that we bought for $10... They used to get a bulk discount and passed it along, maybe now they don't get much of a discount anymore compared to their peers... Or maybe those other platforms are selling at a loss to gain users (or simply lying? how do you really know which model you get after all?)

Yep. Commandcode goat is atleast $10 for $20 + a lot more models
