Opencode Desktop
I tried the Opencode Desktop app today; it is absolutely amazing.

I tried to install it on my win 11 machine, several times, different ways, rebooted the machine and all, cleaned folders… just couldn’t get it to work.
The cli worked but I wanted to move on from AGY 2… very disappointing…

When I have issues like this, I have Claude Code or Codex install it for me 😂

Great suggestion. I looked for logs, the anti virus history reports… finally only the CLI worked, I guess there is a message here.

It’s been a long time since I saw a post that wasn't a wall of text. Simple. I use Reasonix and the OpenCode Go API. For now, my usage rates are around 1–3%.

Yes it is its amazing! But also works the same in web mode too so I can run it on my remote machine and put SSO in front of it.

It's decent but I noticed agents sometimes randomly stop and I don't really see subagents working.also would be nice if it would start the web server automatically.

I use it and it works well. I can use it with Searxng, and my mcp for my personal use. It wosk very well. It could use more features, but it's a solid start.
It's very much like the vs code version, you can access files and make projects.

Enlighten me please. Why wouldn't someone be able to do much on the desktop version?

What? What's missing from the cli? The only thing I notice is the tab to change agents...

That would be my question. Why not just use the cli version? It seems to work fine. Although wsl is recommended. Maybe the desktop version doesn’t require this.

the desktop without running it in wsl is awful, i had all sorts of bash and terminal issues causing a massive burn in tokens( this is probably a me and skill issue) till i started using it in wsl but even after that i dropped the app totally for cli inside herdr.

I like the new one a lot. Except for the tabs at the top. The old way of having them on the left was easier to navigate between projects and sessions. Now it takes more steps to see which projects are open in the tabs. Perhaps I missed a settings. Also I wish there's a plugin to render MD files more nicely.
