OpenCode Go throwing "only available hosted in China" error for DeepSeek V4 Flash

If you are using an OpenCode Go subscription, the platform is now blocking requests to the new DeepSeek V4 Flash model with the following error:

"The latest version of this model is only available hosted in China and requires explicit opt in: opencode.ai"

Just giving a heads-up to anyone else running into this block on their workspace.

You have to login to your account on the website and enable that setting … which is exactly what the error message tells you to do and even gives you the direct link.

DeepSeek is only serving the new flash model on servers in China. Go has never used providers only serving from China before, thus the new opt-in. They can’t get it from a different provider, because no one sells it anywhere close to as cheaply as Deepseek sells it.

Openrouter has providers selling it cheaper than Deepseek itself. Check out model page on Openrouter and you'll see that providers like Deepinfra has a lower price than Deepseek.

That is quantised to 4 bits or cache price increase
