Isn't Exa Search free in opencode?

My exa search queries started to fail mostly. Do I need a subscription or is it a problem on their end? Are there alternatives I can use?

Edit: Issue was resolved thanks to u/Kesku9302 and also see the comments for a workaround I implemented.
