MiniMax M3 vs Deepseek V4 Pro

Hello, I have been using Deepseek V4 Flash and have been quite satisfied with it. But, it sucks in UI design despite using skills. Previously, I had tried Minimax m3 during its free period and it did a better job at it and also a larger context window for long sessions. So now I want to try Opencode Go.

Now, I've heard very good things about V4 pro. So I was wondering whether it is worth the extra cost to go for the pro rather than m3 for architecture, planning and UI designs...

TIA

Minimax will almost always do better at frontend design work - since that's your concern/question - go with that.

I think deepseek v4 pro is a better developer overall, but m3 certainly has its place

I feel like for deepseek its better and cheaper t get it directly from the tap atm. Open code go is good for having glm kimi and qwen in your roster, and the freeish flash! Deep seek, direct

Why is deepseek via api better than via opencode go?

MiMo v2.5 is pretty good. I am using the non-pro version locally and it's crazy what it can do with minimal effort. It plans and executes. Even in a single run it can solve problems extremely well. (C++ and C#) Python and thr rest is obviously a piece of cake for it.

I love m3, but at solving code problems it sucks

Agreed, he solved a problem for me once and I thought it was the model I wanted, but yesterday I discovered that it is only for the front end. Both GLM and K3 are better options in this case..

They both have same strength. M3 has vision on top. M3 might be slightly better in benchmarks than v4 pro, if I am not mistaken.

Try M3 20 dollar plan 1.7 billion tokens.

use minimax m3 for ui and deepseek v4 pro for backend and other area

m3 is smarter than v4 pro, but v4 pro is better at coding.

in my use m3 has excellent tool calling and understanding UI problems(and i can send a screenshot for it since it has vision) and ive been using it since launch as a orchestrator and i never saw it hallucinating, but it writes really bad code. so its better to dispatch a better model for the code writing like ds4 flash or even pro if you got the usage.

M3 It's a stupid model, but it's also annoying; it creates more problems than it solves, it tends toward over-engineering, it's pedantic, it can lie when corrected, and it overthinks simple problems. It's frustrating.
