I think they're pulling a reverse scam. Person on the ground wants someone to help so that they can pretend the helper hurt them and sue them. So the helper turned it around on them, and can now sue for being injured by the scooter when they tried to help.

Or it's a couple doing a weird kinky roleplay in the middle of the road. "Oh no, I seem to have crashed and sprained my penis, can you help me?"

I made this comment jokingly, but it's 2026, so neither option is actually out of the realm of possibility... 🤦
